Winter is here, the leaves have fallen and UK Coronavirus Lockdown Part Deux - the Santa Spoiler has arrived with it. Now in the UK we have managed to exceed the "Worst case infection numbers" of Covid for the whole Winter - before it really started - urgent and drastic measures have had to be taken. So our already ruined economy is taking a final death blow that will truly decimate the few businesses that survived the first lockdown.
But - in a work of true genius - Schools and education centres will remain open and active. Which has two major problems - first one is anyone that has brought up children knows they spread germs faster then butter on hot toasted muffins - prime example is whenever you hear a Sickness and Diarrhoea bug has been caught by a few kids locally - within days every kid, their family, their dogs, cats, hamsters and Alpacas all have it. Second problem is while I am all for keeping our youth well educated, what exactly are they going to use that education for? Because by 2021 the only viable jobs left are going to be shelf stacking in Supermarkets, delivery driving for supermarkets, carriers, Amazon - stock pickers for Amazon warehouses - that's about it.
The outlook is for a bleak, dark, wet and miserable winter in the UK. If you have kids your chances of getting Coronavirus are exponentially increased. If you don't have kids or they are all grown up - you can't actually go and do anything interesting other then buy food. And every time you do that your chances of getting Coronavirus are exponentially increased. The biggest irony is going to be while just maybe the UK Government might be able to reduce the number of Coronavirus deaths, they are relying on nobody paying attention to the number of suicides and clinical depression cases caused by isolation and poverty.
I'm being Pragmatic, Coronavirus is far more complicated then any one mind can truly understand. There is no one solution, and certainly not one that will suit all of the people. Will it kill me if I catch it - quite likely I'm old and not particularly the most healthy specimen on the planet. But that's why I have spent since March avoiding going anywhere non essential and wearing a face mask when I have to be out in public around people.
Despite having avoided any stores where possible, after filling the third parcel locker of the day today with parcels (60+ coffee orders shipped by Hermes today, without even starting on the two pallets of commercial goods) I popped into the store the last set of lockers is outside for a few essentials - bread, milk, ribena bottles to keep me hydrated while driving. Despite them having a massive sign on the door saying a mask must be worn before entering - of the 12 people in that store only one of them was wearing a mask - myself of course. Which is a complete joke, 3 days from a full lockdown in the UK and nobody even cares, literally just a load of people strolling around a store, no masks, no social distancing three times I had people push past me - not brush forcibly shove - Social Distancing! Fortunately it was pouring with rain tonight so aside from having three layers including a thick jacket - anything I had on me in the store was well washed off by the time I reached my car. But it's the whole don't care attitude really get's me, it is one of the main reasons we have to have these major lockdowns, and why business's are going bankrupt - people who either just don't see it as their problem or don't care what happens to someone else.
A rubbish photo of a rainbow we had Sunday, it's been raining for weeks straight now which is rubbish so a rubbish photo is quite fitting. It poured with rain a few minutes later.
And a #funkyedits to finish. Sorry it is a day late, digesting the melancholy of being informed Saturday night the UK was going into Lockdown 2.0 took longer then expected.
