For this week's #sublimesunday, as inspired by @c0ff33a, I headed off to the local hill with my daughter to get some sledding in. The temperatures were a chilly mid-teens F, but hey, we needed to get outside. I was more than happy to do some father / daughter sledding on the golf course near our home.
To be fair, sledding is more of a workout. I get to pull Hattie up the hill, then sled down with her while guiding the sled with my arms, only to hop and out repeat. It's a good thing I ate that monster burger last night...I needed the energy.
After a few hauls up and down the hill, I could feel it. Nothing is worse than having sweat build up on your back and neck in the middle of winter. The wind just makes it that much more uncomfortable when you slow down. Hey, but it's what you do as dad for your little girl, right?
All was manageable until the snow began to fly. Then we both became slightly more chilled to the bone.
The best part about sledding in the cold is the hot cocoa after it all. With our noses running with snot. we hopped back in the car and headed home. Sure enough, hot cocoa was waiting for us when we arrived. Extra whipped cream for Hattie, of course!
Another #sublimesunday in the books! Cold and nasty, sure, but worth it. This was actually the first sledding adventure of the season, so it was a long time coming. Until next weekend...hoping all had a wonderful day too.
You have better sledding hills there. Over here its all too flat for sledding and the snow melted and froze again to a solid ice slick.
Oh yeah, the bases of the local bluffs work out well, although it was a bit icy too. Hattie loved it when we launched in the air on a few jumps and landed on ice, but the old back was feeling on it me.
Looks like fun one way of trying to keep warm in the snow...lol 😊

Sweet, I'm on it! The clouds around here have sucked the past few weeks...nothing but grey drab sheets of clouds overhead or clear blue skies. The mid-winter skies are always a downer
Thank you @sagesigma that will be appreciated, yeah the winter clouds can be very boring but you can get some pretty nice angry clouds at times, I do see your enjoying that white snow 👍
