My Sunday looks a little different today - Laborious and productive

in SublimeSunday16 hours ago

The clocked ticked at 1800 here in India, and I began writing for hive. It was not a easy day, as something kept me occupied since morning. Not an usual day at all. From taking a look at our gardening to manuring my mango tree to going to market and then again packing my share of paddy's for selling. The last job took a heavy toll todays, As it require filling up in sacks and then stitching them. I did it all alone and it took 4 hrs. Infact, I didn't had a proper meal since morning. Here is a snapshot of today activities that kept me pretty occupied.

About the last image of the collage, I will explain in last. It is something very important things in village to avoid itching. The Sunday began on a happy note. I woke up with very few work in mind. I only suppose to cover my garden and then to the market to repair my induction cook top. But sometimes certain things crops up which are unavoidable. With the bright sunny day around 9AM, I went to my other home near to the mountain. We have some agricultural land along with little garden. While the harvest has already been done in the field, I checked upon the garden, and the person in charge of it sown some cauliflower in it. The garden bed is looking pretty decent with each plant sowed at proper distance in an alley.

There were some early morning dew on some of the fresh leaves and they were sparkling like nothing.

I checked upon all the family member well being and enquired about the new year party and everyone has something in store. I then went upon to market to get the induction repaired. However, the shopkeeper wanted me to leave it there, as they have other task to complete. So my visit was not productive and I left my machine after explaining the issue. On the way, my cousin called upon and asked if my paddy are ready for selling or not. He is going to transport them to his cooperative Centre. He wanted all the paddy's packed in sacks and stich properly. But my paddies' were kept in open inside an old room.

These are left to be filled and packed. Some of my harvest were already sold directly from the fields. But finding the stack of open paddy's gave a serious headache and reason to bother. It was already 2PM and getting a help is not possible. So I took upon the challenge to get it filled and packed of my own. I quickly arrange some old sacks from and start filling it one by one. It took me 17 odd sacks each one of 50kg. It appears to be an easy job, but filling each one of them require a lot of manual effort. And then stitching them too is not easy. It took me 4 hrs to get everything ready for tomorrow transporting.

Isn't the room look decent now. It was all packed by me and arranged them in queue. Now tomorrow the labor will weigh them and take them on their tractor. My job is finished, my paddy's harvest for this season is ready to be sold. I took a cold water shower in evening. But I felt little itching on my body. My uncle asked me to apply mustard oil on the open area to avoid itching and this is what I was holding in my palm.

I applied the oil on my open areas on legs and hands and felt better. These are old generation experience, my uncle has a good farming experience and he know what all things may happen on exposing body to paddy. However now I am free and completed a quick recap of my entire Sunday. Now I am going to have a meals after such a hectic days.

In good faith - Peace!!

It's interesting how the land looks as if there's a drought. I hope the harvest brings them everything they need and deserve!
