Look, I know what you’re thinking—“A GoPro? For photos? Isn’t that like using a chainsaw to butter toast?” Fair point. Action cams are built for adrenaline, not artistry. But every now and then, my GoPro Hero 10 surprises me by spitting out shots so good, I almost forget it’s primarily a crash-proof, waterproof, tiny miracle machine. Let me prove it to you with some accidentally awesome landscape photos.
1. Spring Flex: Cherry Blossoms and Blue Skies
Nothing screams "nature's got swagger" like a tree exploding with cherry blossoms under a perfect blue sky. The Hero 10’s wide-angle lens captured this shot with so much detail you can almost hear the bees buzzing. And yes, I nearly fell backward taking it because physics.
2. Wheat Fields and Moody Vibes
Here’s the GoPro showing off again. This wheat field under a dramatic, overcast sky looks straight out of a cinematic masterpiece—or maybe a melancholic indie music video. It’s HDR magic in a pocket-sized action cam.
3. Close-Up Wheat: Because Why Not?
I got down low for this one, mostly to prove I’m not that old. The GoPro nailed the details on those wheat stalks, and I didn’t even need a fancy macro lens. Pro tip: crouch shots are great, but getting back up afterward is optional.
4. Path to Somewhere Cool
This dirt path cutting through the fields feels like it’s begging you to follow it. (Spoiler: I didn’t. It was probably a tractor road, and I’m not trying to star in a "City Guy Lost in the Wild" documentary.) The Hero 10 made this ordinary scene feel epic, though, so win-win.
5. Sunset Magic Hour
And finally, the pièce de résistance: a sunset so stunning you can almost hear angels singing. Sure, the Hero 10 isn’t the GOAT for low light, but when you’ve got colors like this, who cares?
Why I Love My GoPro for Photos
The GoPro Hero 10 wasn’t designed for fine art, but it’s a scrappy little overachiever:
- Indestructible: Drop it, soak it, freeze it—it doesn’t care.
- Pocket-Sized: Fits in my jacket and leaves room for snacks.
- Lighting Rockstar: Give it good light, and it’s like, “Hold my beer, DSLR.”
Sure, it’s not winning any low-light competitions, but honestly, neither am I. If you’re into effortless, "hey, that turned out better than I expected" photography, grab your GoPro and go explore.
Who knew an action cam could flex this hard? Just saying: this little thing might outshine your fancy gear when you least expect it. Back in my day, cameras didn’t even try this hard.

And for the GoPro's, it depends, if you take the most recent GoPro and compare it to the most recent top smartphones, it will be about in the same league. But they don't match even closely with a DSLR of course. But then again, I don't want to carry my Canon R5 with wide angle lens in my pants all day :-D
