During the pandemic season, when there was lockdown as a result of Covid-19. There was a lot of shift in global work space. Right before the pandemic it is mainly physical jobs where you go to work place and return back home after the closing hour. But when the compulsory lockdown occured as a result of the lock down. Many organizations started leveraging on the use of online and digital space to run their businesses. Many who could not leverage on digitalization during the pandemic ended up losing their relivance in the global business space. Some employees lose their job while some business owners lose their business as a result of the pandemic.
The COVID 19 pandemic in 2020, opens the eyes of many to the importance of digitalization. Many began to re-strategise and started embracing digitalization. As we can see their are more of remote jobs now that even pay more than physical jobs and one of them is content creation.
If you notice after the pandemic, there was increase in the numbers of content creators. The lock down had an effect on people and people began to use what they have to generate money which was the internet. A lot of content creators are rising day by day because they believe content creation is a means of making money. Some became content creator for the right reasons while others became content creator for the wrong reasons. These reasons has either a positive or negative impact on the value and the quality of content they release to the public.
Inspite of the increase in the numbers of content creators, the quality of the content being published daily are of less quality. Many goes to the extent of promoting nudity just to generate traffic on their post. Recent times, I came across a content creator who said he create content based on realities that happens in his daily life. His content generated thousands of likes and followers due to the kind of content he realized online. After few months he was exposed by his fellow content creators that all the content he has been releasing are all fake and that they are full of lies and deceit. Many thought his fellow content creators were trying to destroy his reputation, only for the true evidence to show that all what they said about him was true. He was releasing deceptive content just to generate the attention of people on his page which is wrong.
I believe whatever one find doing is what doing well. Being a content creator shouldn't be a platform where a person goes to the extreme by releasing content that are not adding value to people. The sustainability of being a good content creator lies in the value and the quality of content being published to the public.
I believe their ought to be regulations guiding content monetization so as keep the online space in sanity. I believe this will control publishing of less quality or valueless content by content creators.
