My friendship with my homeboy was put to the test when we were both supporting different candidates in a school election. The tension between us grew and even after my candidate lost we were having an awfully hard time rekindling that bond. Not until we came to realization that we were allowing something petty come in-between our friendship. So yes friends with different ideologies can work as long as boundaries are put in places.
