I understand how your friend felt, you felt the same way initially when you were on the losing end though I don't think yours was as intense as your friend's. Not many people are okay with not winning but like you said we shouldn't let petty things as this affect us so badly.
I don't think technology should be blamed for something like this because there are good impacts which technology has created. How we let it affect us is our own doing. Well, I may be wrong, who knows if it's because I'm just waking up and my brain is still booting.
