Palmcredit nearly killed me, it got to a stage, where I did not pick strange numbers again because they were always calling with different numbers, I was so disappointed in myself that year and I vowed never to try such again.
It all happened because my neighbor, she was very sick, she is an asthmatic patient though I didn't know about her health issue until this day, that was the day I experienced it, I didn't know what triggered it, I was in my room when my phone rang and I saw she is the one calling, I didn't pick her call because I know she is in her room to avoid wasting of airtime so I decided to walk into her room to know why she was calling me.
I got to her room and opened the door, I saw her gasping and lying on the floor fighting for her life, I was shocked and no one was at home again, I quickly grabbed her and rested her back on the chair, at this point the condition was getting worse, I asked for her inhaler but she said she doesn't use an inhaler, she has a drug that she was using and the drug has finished, I asked her what happened since you know your condition, you ought to be having the drugs every time, she responded that she is broke and she could not afford the money to get the drugs at the moment, and that period I was extremely down too, I was not financially buoyant at all.
The situation was not funny anymore, I was scared because I hadn't seen this kind of sickness in my life, she was sweating profusely and crying at the same time, I asked her if she had anyone that I could call to send money but she replied No, so what is the way forward now because I can never neglect her in that condition.
She said I should check her loan app if she is still eligible to borrow money from there, I checked but she was owing on the app and they will not borrow her another one until she pays the outstanding, she pleaded that I should help her borrow the money using my information and download the app on my phone, at first I didn't buy the idea but this is about life and death, I agree to do that for her because the drugs cost #30,000 and I do not have the money at that time, I downloaded the app on my phone, register and applied for a loan of #35,000 because I was eligible to borrow #50,000 she promised to pay back.
I bought the drugs and she felt better after some days, I was expecting her to talk about the loan but she didn't say anything, I gave her some time, and the interest was accumulating, after a week I got a reminder from them that the loan repayment will be due in the next five days, I told this lady and she started to give me excuses, I felt so stupid at her response.
Five days elapsed and I began to receive different calls from different numbers calling me to pay the loan, I told this girl and she said she didn't have any money for now and that I should ignore them, how can I ignore them when my reputation is at stake, the loan had increased to #41,000 and they had been sending messages to my contact because my mother called me and said what is happening, where did I borrow money from, she received a message that I borrow money and yet to repay.
I looked for the money and paid so that I could have peace of mind, and my neighbor never said anything about the loan till date, that was my first and last experience because I can never try such a thing in my life again. I regretted doing this favor for her because the loan nearly tarnished my image, how many people would I explain to that I am not the one who used the money?

Wow. That was so bad and unfair of her. How could she not pay you back knowing you did that because of her condition. Imagine such unfairness on her side. I can never take a loan from these apps oo. The day I wanted to try such, the interest was unreasonable compared to the amount I was attempting to loan, I just smiled and left it.
It would have been better if she had return your money but you have learnt your lesson and such wouldn't happen again.
I think I should save a friend's life not knowing that she will turn out to be an ingrate, I just wish that situation never happened to her because I will not leave my room not to talk of rescuing her
Do we now say it is bad to save a friend? No one knows this would be the outcome, else, you would have refrained from helping out.
Ah, some similar thing happened to me once when I used an application to get loan and they reached my every single contact for that loan...

First my thanks to you for the help you provided. It is not always easy to do it even if one wants to, and despite the panic situation you were able to help them out. There is thing like karma so it does not matter what she did, good tidings will come your way from other sources.
Loans are always a risky proposition for sure, and not with apps it is so easy to get that people make their entire life decisions based on that, like your neighbour did. It is good that you paid it off and cut that part out your life. I cannot say I will never take such a loan, cause who knows what happens in future, but God willing I should never be in a position to have to do that. And God willing I hopes the same for all the people here too. Gambling apps and loan apps hopefully should leave people's phones as fast as possible.
Finally good to know you were somehow able to pay it off and get out of that loop. Don't mind the money lost. As my father in law would say lending money for first time is always useful, you either get back the money, or you lose a bad friend :)
