The end of the year is notable for it been for festives i.e. the Christmas celebration and also the new year celebration. Also, it is majorly a holiday for students and many others based on the type/nature of some organizations. This period is notable for merry making, relaxation, rest, visitations, gatherings and even, some fix special events like picnics, retreats, ceremonies, family events, cultural celebrations etc at this time where it is believed that many people will be available for participation. Therefore, the end of the year is always a busy time of the year even as one tends to spend more and more except been so delibrate and cautious.
The best way to go is to be sincere with one's financial status making room for budgeting so as not to overspend or spend on fivolities. I believe in budgeting even not only for festives but also for life as it helps to curb wasteful spending and makes room for effective financial management. There is no universal template for budget as many things are factored into consideration, however, the underlying principle of resourcefulness and contentment should not be eroded. In some families, the husband and wife will need to effectively plan for how these festives/holiday is going to be and how to effectively utilise the available resources for the optimum.
For the singles or unmarried, budgeting is also very important because there is this push to spend more for singles at the spur of the moment unless one is financially disciplined. Personally, i already had my plan and budget for the upcoming festives and holiday even as i have it in mind to enjoy the best of the season within my available resources and not going bankrupt. The truth is that each person or family should apply moderacy this season as going bankrupt after the festives and holiday isn't a good thing. After the festives and holiday, schools will be resuming back and also as the start of the new year, more will be demanded or needed which only the prudent ones can survive.
In life, we are all not at the same level including in finances and hence, budgeting is needed for optimum use of available resources. To cap it all, these festives and holiday will count most and makes much sense when we spend time together as family (nuclear or extended) and reach out to the less privilege even with out token of love. Any celebration with a show-off or competitive mindset should be checked as this isn't necessary. For me, i planned it already to spend morr time with my family with provisions made for "winning and dinning" and to reach out with token of love to others.
Life is more than festives or celebrations, however, it can be memorable and worth it without regret by proper planning through budgeting and efficient use of the available resources. In my country of residence, Nigeria, especially with the situation of things right now been an aftermath of the subsidy removal, moderacy in finance through budgeting is the necessity now.
