Did you know The BRAIN operates on contrast?

in Hive Learners2 months ago

I'm a student and I'm always finding a new way study more efficiently and effectively, I know a lot about the many study methods(Pomodoro technique, Active recall, Spaced Repetition, Feynman technique, Mind mapping..... and so on). My favorite was Pomodoro because I have a relatively short attention span and it kind of helped me with it, so if you are a student with the same problem, you should try it.
Today I learnt more that could actually make me study better and what I learnt today was DOPAMINE LOADING.
link to the video is below, Mathew Smith did a wonderful job explaining this, y'all should check it out.

But here's a little summary, he basically talked about how picking up your phone first thing in the morning and Eating high cabornhyrate spikes up your body dopamine that when you want to do something productive afterwards, the dopamine dips and makes whatever you want to do seem so boring and difficult because THE BRAIN OPERATES ON CONTRAST.
So make fulfilling task easier for your brain, doing low dopamine activities like jogging or meditating or going to an environment filled with people studying like a library and eating low carbs food before engaging in productive activities like studying is the best preferred to raising your dopamine before. After you're done being productive, engaging in high dopamine activities us even more enjoyable as you're in relief of the task done.
Knowing this now feels like I've cracked so made codes to being more productive and I'll be practicing this everyday now.

What are your thoughts on this and thank you for reading.
