In life’s journey, we often meet people with different inborn traits who act, behave and think differently. Back then in secondary school I had a friend who was very fast in noticing mistakes and we were very close. Most time I will ask him how it is possible for him to immediately spot out errors at the slightest moment. He can decipher people's body language a mere seeing them and when people make grammatical blunders. Also, currently I have a friend in the university who is very fast in writing and he has the ability to capture a large junk of what is being said irrespective of the tempo. Even when I try to compete with him, I end up making mistakes.
Naturally i like doing things slowly and gradually following up processes. Initially, when I saw those charismatic qualities in people I will just hate, criticize myself and feel depressed for not being able to live up to expectations. Most times one of my relatives will shout at me for doing things slowly. Subsequently, I got to full realization of the fact that everyone is unique and special, each person behaves with respect to their dominant character default. Their strength and weakness are the major intriguing factors that motivates me to write on this interesting topic such as "Temperament"
Temperament is seen as the real inborn character of a person in terms of their overall approach to life, the way they relate with their environment and people. It could also be referred to as the unique and distinct quality of a person as well as their manner of response to matters. The knowledge of the strength and weakness of each Temperament is undoubtedly vital if one must have a good quality relationship and interaction with people. Without taking much of your time, I would like to explain briefly the major temperaments, their strength as well as their weakness.
Choleric Temperament: This is the first Temperament on my list. However, choleric people are goal oriented and serious-minded people, tenacious in nature and they are mostly effective in occupations such as bank manager, accountant, entrepreneur and so on. In terms of strength; they are achievers and they can take risk, very discipline and highly pragmatic. They are always detailed in their discussions and interaction with people. They have self-confidence and are very decisive, furthermore they are very effective in choosing the best candidate for a job if appointed as interviewer. They are good evaluators. There are other ones but let's look at their weakness: Hostility, cruelty and violent character display, they are sometimes very blunt in their speech; if offended they can reduce the person to nothing by just their words, arguing with them is like arguing with a mad man because they will never give up for u to win. they have hot temper, they are easily angry at a slightest provocation, if they get angry, they hit their victims with whatever they see. Very manipulative, a choleric person can go extra miles just to achieve his/her goals irrespective of who suffers in the process. They are not easily moved by people's tears. If a choleric person gets married to another choleric person, the marriage may likely not stand the test of time, they mostly fall in love with phlegmatic person which takes us into the next Temperament.
Phlegmatic Temperament: A phlegmatic personality is a very easy going and diplomatic personality, they are a perfect match for the choleric person. They are suitable for jobs such as psychologist, marriage counselor etc. Mostly attracted to Choleric personality. Speaking of their strength; a phlegmatic person is very efficient, excellent planners and good organizers, they are always peaceful and they have the ability to endure any pressure, this set of people hardly have issues in their relationship because they are always good at settling fight. Easily forgiving, peaceful and mild.
In terms of weakness: they are always afraid of fighting when been challenged, they are introvert, extremely dull and they don't take risk like the choleric, they are like water- very calm and soft but yet dangerous. If u give them instructions, they will still turn around and do what is in their mind. A phlegmatic person can easily succumb to argument... They don't like opposition. Arguing with a phlegmatic person is a waste of time because he/she will let you win the argument for peace to reign but that doesn't mean he totally agrees to your own opinion.
