THE UNIQUINESS OF RANGE MONSTERS IN BATTLES

in Hive Learnerslast year (edited)

Hello everyone, how are you doing today? Last week, in the battle mage secret, we talked about 'broken arrow'. We understand that there are battle rules that range monsters cannot be used; one of those rules is broken arrow rule.
I know many of us have read articles about 'broken arrow', and understand the rule very well.
Therefore, it is very important to know that whenever a broken arrow rule is given in a battle, we don't need to start searching for range monsters because the rule did not allow range monsters to be used in that particular battle.
I have written different strategies to use while given the broken arrow rule in my previous battle mage secret.
Therefore, you can go over the post and read it here👉👉👉 understanding broken arrow rule in battles .

What a coincidence, last week, we were given a broken arrow; this week, we were given close range.
For me, last week and this week's 'battle mage secrets' are opposite to each other.
Last week, range monsters can't be used; this week range monsters can attack in any position.
This is just awesome; I’m waiting to read some of the splinterlands posts about a close-range rule.
well! I have read some of the articles this night; and I am still looking forward to read more

✅✅THE UNIQUINESS OF RANGE MONSTERS IN BATTLES✅✅
Well! Every rule has its own uniqueness; and the uniqueness makes these rules special in battles. Close range rule gives opportunities to all range monsters to lead the battle. Without this rule, range monsters would not be able to attack when it's use in the first position, except when a player used monster with close range ability such as Beatrix Ironhand; this monster can start a battle and attack due to her close range ability.
Inclusion of this close-range rule makes any range monster to be active in the first position.
General Sloan is my best summoner when this rule is given to me; but I failed to used General Sloan here today because of the nature of the game. I was considering the best way to defeat my opponent; I knew that Djinn Oshannus would be a perfect monster in this battle because of its magic ability. I needed to attack the health of my opponent monsters directly.
I love using General Sloan when Close range rule is given to me especially when high mana is given. The reason I love to use General Sloan when High mana is given is to accommodate monsters like Sivershield Sheriff, Pelacor Albalest, Evangelist, Uriel The Purifier and Shieldbearer.
I used to add Shieldbearer in my line as bait which gives me desired results in battles.
Another reason I used General Sloan is the additional +1 range attack given to all friendly monsters. Additionally of +1 range attack makes some of my range monsters have 4 and 3 range attacks which are capable of destroying opponent monsters.
That is the only advantages General Slaon summoner have over other summoners.

✅✅RULESETS✅✅

Close Range: Ranged attacks may be used in the first position in battles.

Well! The rule is crystal clear; when a player uses range to attack monsters in this type of rule, such a monster will surely attack because the rule stated it. That was the reason my opponent could use three range attack monsters, he knew that if any of his range monster lead the battle, such a monster will surely attack.

For Of War: Monsters lose the sneak, snipe and opportunity abilities.

One of the rules I used to make blunders in my selection due to my impatience; I don’t even pay attention to ‘for of war rule’ in battles.
Note: when using monsters with sneak, snipe and opportunity monsters order than first position, they won’t attack because fog of war have nullified their abilities.
Therefore, I preferred to use magic and range monsters in fog of war. This is the reason there were no sneak, snipe and opportunity monsters in my selection.

                                       MY STRATEGY

                                       SUMMONERS

Alric Stormbringer
Ability: All friendly magic monsters have +1 additional magic attack.
Level: 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Alric stormbringer would be a perfect summoner because of his additional magic attack to all friendly monsters and also have opportunity to use water elemental and Swamp Fitter. Both monsters' abilities were very important for me.

                             MONSTERS

Djinn Oshannus
Splinter: Legendary Water monster
Abilities
Void: reduce damage from magic attack.
Phase: magic attack can miss this monster (using the same hit/miss calculation as for melee and ranged attacks)
Level: 2 ⭐⭐
The only reason I used this monster was the magic attack; I knew the magic attack would be very helpful in attacking the health of opponent monsters directly.
I also calculated that if my opponent use magic monsters, the void ability would reduce the damage; fortunately, my opponent time mage which could not damage the health of Djinn Oshannus; Time Mage was -1 to me because she could not damage the health of Djinn Oshannus.

Swamp Spitter
Splinter: Common water monster
Ability: Repair
Level: 4⭐⭐⭐⭐
I needed the repair ability of this monster to keep on repair damage armor of any friendly monster.
Swamp Spitter repaired its armor after gotten damaged by the blast ability of Prismologist in round one. The armor has been a good help from round one to last round. If I mistakenly placed Merdaali Guardian or Doctor Blight in that position, they would have been eliminated by the blast ability of Prismologist.

Water Elemental
Splinter: Rare water monster
Ability
Heal: Restore the portion of monster’s health each round.
Water Elemental was incredible in this battle; the speed and range of Water Elemental was incredible.

Merdaali Gurdian
Splinter: Rare Water Monster
Ability
Tank Heal: Restore the portion of the monster in the first position’s health each round
Level: 3 ⭐⭐⭐
Merdaali Guardian was selected to keep on increasing the health of oshannus.

Doctor Blight
Splinter: legendary neutral monster
Abilities
Affliction: when affliction is applied, the monsters will be unable to heal
Camouflage: the monster cannot be directly target unless it’s in the first position
Poison: damage the health of monster poisoned each round of the battle.
Level: 2 ⭐⭐
I used Doctor Blight Incase my opponent use monster with healing or tank heal; and also, to damage the health of opponent monster the moment the poison is applied.

Creepy Ooze
Splinter: Common neutral monster
Ability
Slow: reduces the speed of all enemy monsters
Level: 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

                                BATTLE SUMMARY

Among all the monsters I used in this battle, Djinn Oshannus was the best monster that suited the first position due to its health. It was the only monster with the highest number of health which was good enough to lead the lineup.
The phase ability of the monster was good also helpful; pelacor Albarest and Prismoloist also missed Djinn Oshannus due to the phase ability.
Djinn oshannus was able to reach round 3 before it was finally eliminated in this battle.

Swamp Spitter was repairing its own armor each time it was attacked damaged by blast ability of Prismologist. Led the lineup in the fourth round, and never give up on repairing its armor.
Water elemental kept on attacking opponent monsters; its attack was a big contribution in this battle.
Though, the plan for this monster was that even Swamp Spitter is eliminated, water elemental can lead the battle, and the healing ability would have helped to stay longer in the first position.
Merdaali Guadian was selected to keep on supporting monster in the first position in term of restoring the portion of the health at each round. We saw how this monster demonstrated that when Djinn Oshannus was in the battle. This was one of the major reason Djin Oshannus could stay longer in this battle.
Without Merdaali Guardian, Djinn Oshannus would have been eliminated in the first or second round of the battle.

Doctor Blight was selected to poison and afflict opponent monsters. I knew how powerful the abilities of doctor blight; that made me used it in this battle.
Doctor Blight afflicted and poisoned some of the opponent monsters in this battle.

Creeping Ooze was to reduce the speed of opponent monsters.

At the end, only one monster was eliminated from my lineup.

In conclusion, Close range rule is good for me when I used the best monsters to deliver my desirable result.

I stand up for success, and success is not achieved by merely making mouth, No room for laziness, no room for idleness. Success comes to the people who are desperately and consciously searching for it. When it seems unsuccessful or you smell failure around you, never discourage yourself from being successful.
