Nigerian society is one that has a lot of diversity, and if care is not taken, one may confuse the country with the ones that are already working, but in a real sense, we still need lots of time and critical analysis to get to where some of our leaders have placed us.

A few weeks back the federal government came up with a secular law that come January 1st, every person in the nation will pay tax, and we are being compelled to go get a tax identity number. On hearing this sort of news, I was just left to wonder what exactly we are paying all these taxes for, including me, a housewifewith a full chest. When our society places standards on us, the citizens, it becomes so unrealistic when what we actually ordered is not what we are actually getting.
Paying tax, which I know is for the development of my country, is not in any way an issue if and only if the society is friendly to me and I am doing something meaningful to care for myself and the family. Where exactly do they expect I get such money to pay them? The standards being talked about can joyfully bring about progress in our country, all things being equal. There is a serious problem of different tribes in the country of Nigeria, and that alone is a whole lot because when you talk about unity in diversity, it becomes a serious challenge because many parts of the nation already are feeling cheated, and they have complained their hearts out, but no one seems to be getting a glimpse of what they are saying or even giving a listening ear to their cry. There is a special way our society rates a successful person who is flashy and has a good car and his house.
So even if one is suffering and living in debt but has all the flashy things they wish for, it is not a challenge. I remember years back my brother-in-law was told by some of his peers to change his car and his house setting. It happened that he lives in an estate, and many of the people they packed in with have already upgraded their own house and car. He refused to listen to them; progressively, those people still come to him to help them with some financial assistance. Today as I speak, he already has a new car, upgraded his house, and added some flats—more than his peers too.If we all have the same pedestal to walk past, it becomes a different thing.
The society presents itself differently to different people, and there is no way we all have to meet at the same place. As a way of conclusion, if the government goes back to the way things used to be—that is, giving a good ground for all graduates and more—it will go a long way in aligning things. During my parents' days, I was told that the moment someone graduates, he will be given a car and a good job. But now, the river is not only the case but also the tumbled.
My society really needs to return to the ancient landmark. Thank you so much for reading.
Truly the society needs to return to the ancient land mark.

If we pay taxes and we see them in use, we will not be too worried about paying those taxes. We are rated by what we have, and because of that, people go out of their way to maintain it.
It's well, we pray all goes well
