What Was Said VS What It Is

in Hive Learners3 days ago

History is a way of recalling the past in the present time. The people who study history are called historians. There are many things that happened in the past that are told in the now; some of them are truly said, while some of the things in the process of handing them over to the next individuals are being watered down. Most times it gets to bring lots of confusion, to the point some people don't mind if people get killed in the process.

On a daily basis we get to hear stories that are dynamically twisted, and at the point of hearing those stories, we have no singular reason to doubt the genuineness because of the presentation. There was one man in those days in my village who, when you wanted to hear the details of what happened, you would get to and ask him, as he was the oldest person at that time and he heard lots of those histories. I could remember several times my mother sent my brothers to him so as to hear some details from the past.

Usually, she tells them to go with writing materials, as they should not trust the ability of their brain to hold all the information. From the history of Nigeria, some details were deliberately removed because of the gravity of things that happened in those days. For instance, the civil war that happened in Nigeria had some parts of the country badly and brutally manhandled, but because of the gravity of it, some of the details were just removed from the history books so that the upcoming generation won't grow with such bitterness against the other.

While that is helping in its own aspect, other fresh occurrences are taking place, which are sure to leave their own kind of impact. The civil war was cloned to mean that the eastern parts of Nigeria were planning to break away from the nation of Nigeria. While this had a good impact, which led to the war breakout, it was a big frame-up. The major reason for the agitation from the Eastern states was as a result of marginalization. They cried out on several occasions and were not heard.

This is a lie that exists even to date, and many people believed it and have not seen to the fact that the eastern states are truly marginalized. There is no fair play in the political setting of the country.Correctly this believe which has existed for over fifty years will take people who have made up their minds to work with what they see presently rather than what was told them. This also call for a serious reformation in the setting of the country because for a very long time people believed lies which has eaten most of them up. They were told that the eastern region will divide the country and this lie have refused to fade away.

Happy new week to all of you in this community and beyond m, I do wish that this week will so favour you in every way that is good. Here is my entry for this week's second edition entry. Thank you for reading

I found it interesting how the text shows that history can be distorted over time and that this affects how people view the present. I enjoyed the example of the Nigerian civil war and how the omission of certain facts still influences current politics. It's a good reminder that not everything we hear as "historical truth" is entirely reliable.
