I can say that life career and a lot of other factors have affected marriages and the union of people in the same or different fields of life and career . The sanctions placed on doctors for having affairs with their patients is a bit too harsh for me especially if they are both matured adults. Love can meet anyone anywhere and even if the patients were discharged before the affairs started they still sanction the medical personelle involved.
Well that might have taking this serious after we have heard of cases of doctors molesting or raping their patients. Any crazy thing can happen anywhere. I just hope that we all find a balance and do things right.

If it were possible. Many patients would love to get married to their Doctors.
The level of care can easily stir affection, hence the Doctor must be careful.
It is difficult to establish that the reason the affair exist isn't because of the care given.
Yes, love can happen anywhere, but let love open eye. Like you said, many Doctors have been both truly and falsely accused.
The falsely accused one may have lowered their bars to give chance for such.
