The Iriji Mbaise festival is known to be the festival celebrated, amongst the Igbos especially the mbaise clans, it is a well rooted festival for the Igbos, it is called the eriji mbaise festival. This festival is always scheduled on the 15th of August, once a year every Year this festival always holds in the small city in the imo state. This festival is so honored that anything as important as the government holidays, what, I mean is any political events are cancelled, any social, spiritual events all these has to pause for this festival.

Yam surely is indeed king and I must say it didn't shock me that much. The yam is well appreciated by a lot of tribes and the IRIJE is a great way to put the yam on display.
This sounds like a really beautiful festival, I havn't been able to experience it before but then I know I'll get the chance to..I can't wait!!
