The traditional wedding ceremony is a cultural event that is carried out from generation to generation among the people of Aceh. every time the bride and groom carry out a wedding, an inauguration party will be held which has become a mandatory culture for the newlyweds. however, not all newly married couples carry out these cultural events because of the limited cost and time and the agreement between the groom and the bride to hold the cultural event. but almost 90 percent of the people of Aceh carried out the inauguration in the form of a cultural event. This traditional wedding ceremony is also a form of social interaction between the people of Aceh and the people who come to help the event for the success of the traditional wedding ceremony they organize. At the traditional wedding ceremony, we will see all people gather to help both the young and the old who are present at the inauguration ceremony. they help voluntarily and without charging the slightest fee because this is a closely related social form of the aceh community. because of the social law of the aceh community (if we come to help at the house holding cultural events, surely we will be facilitated in health and income.) then this is what encourages the aceh people to help voluntarily and without coercion.

Before this wedding cultural event begins, for the people of Aceh there will be several stages that must be passed first. the groom's family will visit the bride's family or in aceh language called Jak keumaloen to form a basic bond which will later continue into a cultural event. at the Jak keumaloen event the groom will bring a wedding dowry as a form of agreement between the two parties to carry out the marriage. in the aceh area. The one who brings the dowry is the groom, not the bride. Usually at this event the bride's family will negotiate about the wedding dowry that will be given to the bride. Those who will negotiate are from the family and traditional elders, not from the bride and groom. After the agreement is made, they will determine the date to carry out the wedding ceremony.

The process of Ijab Kabul
In Acehnese customs, the Ijab Kabul procession is a sacred event where this procession is carried out by the groom so that the bride and groom can start a family. As for this procession, it is carried out after the jak keumalon process and receiving an agreement on whether the bride accepts the groom to marry. The Ijab Kabul procession was attended by the bride's guardian, traditional elders and the community who were witnesses to the Ijab Kabul procession. As for this procession, the guardian of the bride will hold the groom's hand and the groom will say the words of consent so that the marriage of the bride and groom is valid. after that the witnesses will witness whether what the groom said is true or not, but if it is wrong, it will be repeated again until it is true.
