Talking of popularity, I really do not know if I would be shocked or glad if I suddenly become famous. I mean it's not easy being known, just imagine waking up one morning to find out that your face has been all over the media, you see a lot of people reposting your videos, pictures, contents and all. You get to the comment sections and see the way people you've never met talk about you as if they've know you for years. I can't deny how good that will feel, even my family would feel excited, I am sure Iya Ope(that's what I call my mum) would begin to brag to her friends and count her steps while walking, and my junior brother, I trust him to act as if he's the main celeb.
But all of that aside, after all the excitement and all, one has to face the reality. Fame isn't what we really see on the outside, fame changes a whole lot of things, you stop having a private life, people begin to take note of your actions, post, tweets and all, they begin to judge you or even drag you, people begin to monitor the kind of people you walk and talk with, what you wear and all.
I remember being on Mark Angels webinar class about two days ago, he was talking about face less YouTube channel and all, how that even he would have preferred to not be known and be faceless while still making his money, because fame has a lot of things attached to it.l, he said some things about being a celebrity and how free he can't be anymore. He can't just walk to the market to get something, he can't just take a stroll on the street and all. Fame comes with a whole lot of things.
You are no longer allowed to make mistakes, even little ones that you'd make on norms would become the headlines on the national news. It's pressure, it's stress and I can't really say if I'm ready for it.
And I have my reasons, my biggest fear would be the loss of peace. I love my peace, like....I love to walk freely, but things from stores, gist with friends, do your things the normal way without anyone taking pictures or recording. All of that is what fame can take, and instead of you to start living for yourself, you start living for the public. And I can't deny the fact that the treatment by then would be different, some treatment would be our of love, some out of hate, some out of envy. It's not an easy thing to be famous, fame breaks families, friendships and even relationships apart, because when you begin to make money and all, and you don't really have the time for what you used to, people begin to talk, hate or even withdraw, and I wouldn't want that.
Though if fame comes, I would try my best to manage it...wisely. I would love to use my own fame for things that are useful and meaningful. I would try as much as possible to use my platform to help people and to make a lasting impact, because sooner or later, the hypes and all would go down. So, it's best to use my platform for something meaningful while still surrounding myself with the real people who knew me before fame found me.
So, about if it would be a good thing, of course it can be both good and bad, yes. Fame can open a lot of doors of opportunities, but it can also take away ones freedom. If it comes, I will be glad, but I would also take things slowly and carefully, because fame has it sharp sides too, and when it cuts, you're gone. I would love to be known and remembered for something good.

That part about people seeing celebrities as people who can't make no mistakes is one of the most demanding part of being famous I don't fancy. And I definitely understand how Mark Angel feels, life on the spotlight is too hectic. I'm team regular human please.

Being famous is not an easy thing at all. Main reason why a lot of people are going into AI and faceless YouTube stuffs. Even when they make mistakes or anything, even with their post, you still don't get to know who it is...

Tor, it's how the society makes this thing looks, they make celebrities look like gods, and as a celebrity if you accept to be a god, you should be ready to give perfection in return.
Seriously, being famous is not easy, someone like me who loves privacy,I think that's where I will have problem with the whole thing.

Fame really have the bad and the good side. Honestly, being famous is not easy because many people will be looking up to you as their role model. And the saddest part about fame is that we can't make any mistakes because if we make any mistakes our face will be all over the news. And also being fame miss no quality time with my family and friends and because of that it can cause a problem which I can't avoid.
Yeah, you start to become mentors to even those you may never meet...
That's true though, when fame comes, money comes and when all that comes, the attention is sure to be divided.
