Frank stared at his phone, unable to think of a reply for the text that came in five minutes ago. He read the text a few more times before deciding to not dignify it with a response. He couldn’t even believe that she sent him that text in the first place.

Frank had first met Jessica at the school cafeteria where she was having breakfast with a couple of her friends. It was love at first sight and he had immediately approached her. She had refused to talk to him at first and that didn’t surprise him because he expected it, they always play hard to get.

He finally got her number after asking a couple of times. Frank could remember how excited and nervous he had been the first time he called her.

“Hello? Who’s this?”

“It’s Frank.”

That was the first and last time Frank had any conversation with Jessica on the phone. It was like she just wanted to confirm his number and then never answer his calls again. Whenever Frank called, Jessica’s roommate was always the one answering the phone and politely telling him that Jessica didn’t want to speak to him. She felt bad with the way he was always calling and had pleaded with him to stop calling. But Frank wasn’t prepared to take no for an answer so he had asked her if they both could meet up somewhere, he had a couple of questions to ask her about Jessica, he needed to know why she didn’t want to talk to him.

Amanda, Jessica’s roommate had agreed to meet with Frank, a meeting that ended up making them not just friends but lovers. They both enjoyed each other’s company and had made it a thing to see each other every once in a while and before they knew what was happening, they were already out on their first official date and then they started dating.

When Amanda told Jessica the news, Jessica had acted like she didn’t care but what Amanda didn’t know was that she was tearing up inside.

“I thought you claimed you loved me, only to run into the arms of another woman simply because I gave you a little test” Frank read the text Jessica sent to him with a little smile on his face “Is she jealous?” Frank thought to himself as he placed his phone in his pocket, if she was waiting for a response from him, she would be waiting a long time.
