Abortion is one of those issues that people talk about like the price of fuel, everybody has something to say and somehow everybody has the view that he or she is the only one who is right. The person who has never held hands with anyone in their life will lecture you on what you should do in relationship, courtship or marriage.
To be honest, there are people who get pregnant and are really unprepared. There are those who are still learning how to deal with their emotions and the introduction of a baby to the equation will make their life miserable. The worst set are those whose bank accounts now have the aspect of prayer requests, how are they going to attend to diapers, wipes, formula, clothes, school fees, doctor visits and at other times when the baby wants to cry without any reason.
However, being unprepared is not all that is important as abortion. This is a big decision and it does not equate to refunding the product on Jumia due to it not looking like what you ordered but this decision touches the body, emotions, conscience, health and not to mention occasionally spiritual beliefs.
However, life is really complicated, pregnancy is sometimes not the right time, done in a wrong way with wrong person or in a condition that is just not capable of supporting a child. People make mistakes, people get overwhelmed especially the lady carrying the pregnancy.
Abortion is not a joke neither is it a Twitter argument. People do not make a choice of doing it because they are bored, it is a very bitter, serious, emotional choice. The people who experience it have silent scars and their burdens especially the girls that were forcefully taken advantage of by people they trusted so much, it can even be as a result of a rape incident. It is of no use shouting at people neither will judging people help. It is different in situations and everyone's story is different.
While there are some ladies that got pregnant through unforeseen circumstances, however, there are some ladies who also got pregnant untimely because of their unsatisfiable crave for pleasure or trying to belong (peer pressure) or because of the love they thought was present in a relationship whereby the man or guy only wanted to satisfy his urges with her.
Unfortunately, the society only blames the girl child whenever there is a case of unwanted pregnancy and she suffers alone leaving the guy or man to go scort free. This alone in many cases, caused the girl child to fall into depression, anxiety, end to her education, fear, disowning from parents or the entire family etc so these things leaves the girl child with no choice than to go for abortion of the child in her womb.
The most important solution to this is less expensive to prevent than to discuss, it is much easier to avoid pregnancy than to debate the issue of pregnancy and this solution is total abstinence from sex until you get married to your partner, I know it's not easy but to avoid the issue of aborting babies which might even lead to the destruction of the womb, it's better to abstain.This is the wisdom, wisdom takes care of you before anything comes into place that will lead you to stress afterwards.
Lastly, I will say that our society should learn to be kinder especially to the girl child who makes a mistake like this. Life is already providing lots of people with high quality headache, everybody is trying and nobody is perfect. I'm not supporting abortion in any way, all I'm just saying is that we should make the environment more conducive for the girl child to successfully carry the pregnancy, give birth to the child and continue her life happily. They are more than depressed already, don't let your words and actions kill them the more because some even die during the abortion or even commit straight suicide because of the shame.
And as we are teaching our girl child to abstain from sex that can cause unwanted pregnancy, let's not forget to caution our boy children too and even those uncles and fathers who takes advantage of them. Whenever they misbehave let's not cover it up, let's speak up to the law enforcement agencies so that they can properly be punished and to serve as a warning to others.
Let's make the world a better place and make a girl child happy and comfortable today because they are the leaders of tomorrow.

Abstinence is definitely the safest way to avoid unwanted pregnancy, but I also agree that we should be kind and supportive to girls who make mistakes. Judgment and shame only make things worse. Society needs to protect and guide both girls and boys.
