EDUCATION; ONE OF THE BEST PART OF ME.

in Hive Learners2 days ago (edited)

Sincerely if you ask me how I would have been without education, I would say my life would have been a mess without direction and purpose, maybe I would have gotten pregnant and married to on man in a shit hole somewhere.

Thank God for education, let me even start from the knowledge of how to speak English in a better way. Sincerely communication is powerful and the fact that you can speak well, always gives a edge above others, is it the confidence? It's unexplainable.

The gift of education actually gives me a clear sense of direction as a girl child, it makes me feel I can become anything if I can put in hardwork and be determined. I have always wanted to make impact in the financial sector since the first day I stepped into a bank but imagine if I didn't go to school to pursue the career, it will only be a wish which will never come through.

That's why I always celebrate my teachers whenever I get the opportunity to do so because they are really the pillars that build our generation and the generations to come because school is nothing with our teachers, they are really special people, a special profession indeed.

I also thank God for the amazing friends I had during my primary down to my university education, although they were not all perfect people but they really tried in my journey both for the lessons and for the blessings, once again my teachers and lecturers are really a good part of my journey as well.

School doesn't just teach but the experience with humans teach us how life works in every aspect of life. School is not just a place to learn a profession but also guides you through the stages of life till you are old enough to be on your own. I think the second association we always find ourselves for most of us, after our family it's school. That's why any educational system you go through will either be a stepping stone for you for higher opportunities in life or the other way round.

My school has also influenced my perception of the world as well. It is not among the universities that are ranked high but it has taught me survival and resourcefulness skills. We do not necessarily possess the most recent facilities but we do get things going. When the light goes off we read with torchlights, when printers have no more to do we pass handwritten notes. It is these little things that have made me resilient, something that I would not have necessarily learned in a university where everything works well.

Also there are the lessons not in the academic world but in the real world, the lessons of patience, contentment and of humility. I have encountered other people with different backgrounds, religions and tribes. I only had my own idea of life before arriving here because I only knew life as I viewed it in my small head but university was an eye opener to me. It made me learn how to empathize with people, to value differences and value hard work. If I had attended a different school perhaps I would have remained narrow minded and lived in my small bubble not realising how diverse the world is.

This month, I will be finally convocating from university and the more I reflect on all the experiences the more, I smile at it.

Thank you so much for staying this far, hope you had a good read with me, see you again next time 🤗.

It's a great read. I suppose we never really plan for any of this to happen. It just happens. And after it happens it shapes us in the way we are today. Maybe good. Maybe a little bad but along the way the uniqueness stays. Congratulations on your upcoming convocation!

Congratulations in advance.
School is a social space that prepares us not just academically but mentally, so o that we might be able to withstand the pressure that comes with being human.
