Thinking about this topic, I start to remember the different kinds of dramas I have heard of and witnessed in this country. Ah, Nigeria! The country of never ending drama.

Let's start with how we can make out jokes (memes) from anything and every situations like during national fuel shortage, power shortage or even a broken heart. We don't cry too much, we simply share a funny meme and move on.
Even though the world likes to speak about us, I will still be honest with whatever I'm saying even if it seems funny to you. Let's take a candid survey of what the world has known Nigeria to be, both in the good and the bad sides.
I will begin by telling you about the good sides because Nigerians believe in good vibes first. Nigeria is a country with rich cultures and entertainment, we are always the life of the party. Whether you are in Lagos or London or Abuja or Atlanta, whenever you hear that Afrobeat beats, your body will move regardless of whether you wanted to move or not. Fela Kuti, Burna Boy, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Rema and Wizkid among others have made the world a single large Nigerian dance floor.

We also have our movies everywhere, Nollywood has become one of the biggest film industry in the world. Nigeria movie is always full of drama, it is only in a Nigerian movie that the man will wake up after 12 years of coma and shout "Where is my inheritance", or a woman will discover that her housemaid is her lost twin sister. It is always dramatic, emotional, and most entertaining.
I must not leave out our comedians too, Nigerians are able to make any gloomy circumstance lively. It does not matter whether a lion has managed to leave the zoo or not, someone will create a TikTok video before the lion is captured and use it to make a funny video.
Let's not also forget the Nigerian delicacies, our foods are second to none, is it the efo riro or the Nigerian jollof rice or our oha soup, white soup, banga, amala, ewa agoyin and others that I cannot mention. I kid you not, Nigerian delicacies are one of the best that will make you crave for more.

The music, the movies, the comedy, the foods and all, these things are facts, we did not have to bribe anyone to tell us that we are talented. Nigerians are able to make anything out of nothing. Let us have one microphone and two speakers and we will have a show that can bring the internet to a standstill. It is this that makes the world love us, even when they do not understand how we can go through what we go through.
However, Nigeria is also known in the world for some atrocities. The first of them is corruption. The politicians will manage to make a budget seem like a movie poster full of suspense and lost money. A four year tenure in office will leave us with nothing to show for it. Even most Nigerians are full of corruption too, it flows from the top to the bottom.
Unfortunately, these bad labels have serious consequences. Nigerians who are abroad are occasionally discriminated, even the most decent, law abiding person Nigerian who may happen to be trustworthy, but as soon as you add to it that you are a Nigerian, people will tightened their wallets. Even visa offices even stare at our passports, as though the green color is an indication that they should be cautious. We are not getting a fair deal but that is life.
However, despite everything Nigerians always blend through it. A Nigerian soul is one that cannot be held down. We have learnt to laugh at our misery and to work our way through. The very nation where people lament about poor governance is the very nation whereby the individual will begin with 200,000 naira and establish a small company, which will eventually become a fashion brand with clients abroad. It is Nigeria, chaotic, funny, unpredictable and full of possibilities.
We are have wahala but we also got the heart and though the bad image is painful, it has also made us more willful to prove ourselves.
Thank you so much for staying this far, hope you had a good read with me, see you again next time.

When it comes to music, Nigeria has indeed gained international recognition for our immense creativity and passion for entertainment.
When it comes to corruption, well it is like our natural resources 🤣
