Nowadays, it is quite difficult for you to find a place where people don't steal; even at church, people steal. I have actually lost count of the number of items that have been stolen from me at church, ranging from my smart watch to my earpods.
Almost anywhere you find yourself, if you end up being careless with your possession, there is always someone waiting to pick it up, and so many times I ended up being a victim. So I have always been trying to put my stuff together and paying attention to it.
This is actually the first time I have been able to use a mobile phone for 2 years without having to sell it, having it get damaged or probably get stolen. I could recollect the year I got my phones and my parents was like, how would I be able to care for my phones that it would not get lost before a year. Yes it was that bad but now I am quite a little better.
I have had several occasions where my phone was stolen from me, and one of them, which I will always remember, was when I just got admission to the polytechnic. I didn't resume early, and I happened to join the class when the lecturer was giving a test.
Even if I was new to the class, I had to participate in the test. The test wasn't that hard, but I just did the best I could do on it, and when it was time for submission, I had to leave my table to submit my paper to the front of the class, leaving my phone on the desk.
The moment that I left the desk to the moment I came back to where I was sitting previously, my phone had disappeared to my surprise. I was shocked at what had happened and did not know how to tell my parents that my phone had been stolen on my first day of class, but I didn't have any choice; I just had to because there was no way. They would try to reach me, and if they could not get to me, someone's mother would be restless.
Another moment I had was my phone slipping out of my pocket inside a bus. I was able to track down the bus using Find My Device on Google, but when I found the bus and people were highlighting it, the phone was already turned off immediately. The mistake I made was that I didn't search for the people that got down from the bus at that moment, as the person who took my phone would be among those people.
And yesterday, I would have had my phone stolen if not for the fact that the people in my apartment do not steal. When I got home from church yesterday, I had to remove my key from my bag. During that moment, I dropped my phone, forgot to take it back, and didn't remember that I had been without it for 2 hours or more.
For someone like me who is addicted to phones, how is that possible? When I got home, I was feeling very tired and sleepy. My thoughts all the way home were to get home and dive straight to my bed to sleep. This was the reason I didn't remember at all until I woke and noticed one of my phones was not with me.
I searched the whole house and did not see it, and at this moment, I was already scared that I had misplaced my phone. Immediately I went outside. I saw my phone right outside my door, where I had dropped it, and I knew that people would have been passing by.
I was really happy that my phone was not stolen, or didn't get misplaced as this time of my life, buying a new phone is not in my plans. There is not even any money for that at all.

Sometimes I just wish people can stop taking things that don't belong to them but it is not possible. Well, I'm happy you didn't loss you phone again because it wouldn't have been funny at all.
I've had a case when I misplaced my phone in a vehicle while traveling home, I had too many load that when I answered a call, I just forgot about my phone on my thigh. When I got home I ate and even took my bath before I realized I've misplaced my phone but somehow I was able to get it back. I believe it was just God and now that is the phone I'm still using now.
Omoor, you were lucky, oh. Your case is one of the rare ones where you were able to get your phone back.
Two weeks ago, my younger sister misplaced her phone, and I was surprised that she was able to get it back. I was just telling her that she did not know how lucky she was. The person who saw the phone called my mom with it, and that was how they were able to give her the phone. Her case is a rare one like yours.
Yeah mine was a really rare case because I had to rush out by Faith to go and look for the bus driver that carried me. Normally I don't really look at buses that I enter but that day I did and there was something unique about the bus and that made me believe I could see the bus.
I called the phone severally but no one was picking up the call, that alone gave me the assurance that I have hope of seeing my phone again. Surprisingly, the bus driver had a flat Tyre and that was how I got the opportunity to see my phone.
At first when I checked his bus the phone was no where to be found but then I Just tried checking again and j found it at the edge of the place I sat at. I was really lucky and so was your sister, nowadays people hardly call to return lost phones.
Omoor I am glad you checked it again oh if not, it has gone...
Your experience also reminded me of another experience of mine... This present phone of mine dropped from my pocket into the edge, around the seat of the keke I entered.
As I was getting down from the keke, I just knew my phone was not with me. Omoor I search I no see am.. the keke almost left before I told it to wait let me check property.
That's how I saw it oh. If not, my phone don go be that.
Oh boy! That was a save! 😆
Sometimes we just need to be sure of things before making unnecessary assumptions, that situation taught me that and I'm sure it taught you too, hehe.
Haaa, thank God you didn't lose your phone this time, it would have been an added expenses.. unplanned one with this crazy dollar rate.
So sorry for your past experience over lost or misplaced phone
I am always careful when it comes to my phone but no one can be 100% careful. The only time my two phones got stolen at once was when I visited Lagos market as a jjc , Omo, those agboro used charm to carry my pause that contains my phone's, money and ATM cards, leaving me stranded in the market
I hate to remember this..lol
Exactly! A crazy dollar rate indeed. I would just be gentle and angry at myself.
Omoor these agbero use am for you... But thank God for life.
The person that took your phone during test was very smart, maybe he has been targeting the phone for sometime, after noticing that your attention isn't with it since you dropped it on the desk. Some people are just too mean.
For yesterday, that was a very close one, let's just say it was your lucky day, else that phone would have been stolen.
Yeah they probably would have known I am New and decided to take advantage of me.
Sorry about that experience, but you have to be very careful with how you handle possessions sir.
The last time I lost my phone I was robbed. It is a very traumatic experience because you never fully recover from it. Some days you just find yourself remembering the things you lost in files and document form; not to mention the pictures and videos.
Exactly, losing your phone call be traumatic especially all your details on it. Not to even mention of being robbed.
When you were robbed, did they threaten you with a Gun?
Yes they did. It was more painful because I lost an important meeting because of it.
Honestly nowhere Is safe, people steal everywhere.
You're very carefree when it comes to your gadgets hahaha. I bet the reason you didn't realize your phone was missing was that you had another one with you.
I always misplace my phone, I don't like holding my phone in my hand, so whenever I see somewhere I can drop it, maybe on someone's table, chair or you name it, I just drop it unconsciously and leave, only to realize moments later I'm not with my phone.
I always look for my phone in the house every day😂😂, I barely use my phone so I just dump it wherever 😂
Lol... You never learn lesson like that na why 😅😂.
Or either you get plenty money to buy another phone anytime you lose the one on you.
True, na lesson I never learn😂... And the thing is my phone has never been stolen before, it's always the screen that goes bad 😂
I still remember that year when you forgot your phone in the cab. 😂😂
Sure, people can be wicked sometimes, but you have to stop making your personal belongings vulnerable to theft.
I'm glad your phone wasn't stolen this time around sha. 😂😂
