There is this saying that says "One Good Turn Deserve Another" or the "Treat other the way you want them to treat you. Back in the days, we have undergo some words, stories or should I say training in general on how to be good to one another and desist from bad things, I even love reading stories about good deeds which were always interesting and fun to read as a kid but most times the lessons learn aren't that easy to implement in this modern world. There was this incident that happened to me back in school days and the unexpected favour that came with it. It was something I never imagine can happened or I least expect.
It all happened back then in 100 level when we all were trying to know each other and make friends especially with people in our department because we all have a long way to go and one way or the other we need to get to know each other. While trying to make friends, I saw a girl sitting all alone looking worried, I couldn't look away and decided to ask her what the problem was, she didn't want to share at first but with some kind words she told me she had some issues paying for some stuff and I decided to help her out that days because I had enough with me and from there we became friends and we always sit down together in class. 2 years later, I was in need and almost took leave of absence in school for that year.
It all happened when I saw a financial opportunity to invest and earn a certain amount of profit back with my capital, which I took without giving it a second thought, I was in need of money to pay my school fees and the little I could save up wasn't enough, It wasn't a money doubling investment or a pronzi scheme, the guy was trading forex and ask us to invest with him, I didnt even know it was forex back then but I just investment and he was giving us feedback on the growth and everything, when it was due for me to receive the capital and profit, I told him to help me keep accumulating since I dont need it yet and also told him I will let him know when I need it since I want to use it to pay my school fee. When it was due for me to pay, the guy started giving me stories that wasn't aligning with out agreement, he played me for weeks before opening up that it is gone. It was as if i got scammed, all my body was shaking because I know I can't meet up with the school fee deadline and there is no way someone will borrow me within that short time.
I was in my room, deep in thought when she came in, I couldn't cry when she ask what is wrong but I knew I need a shoulder to lean on at that very moment, I had told her all the stories and how I lost my school fee, she had to help me out with her house rent fee that she was saving which I felt like rejecting the offer but she made me understand, she can always pay later since I need it urgently and I once helped her when she needed help. I had to pay my school fee and also pay her back some month after when I had cash. I was really happy and grateful for helping out when I needed it the most, it was an unexpected favour.
