The second on the list of characteristics of a living thing Is Respiration, Which basically deals with giving and receiving gasses amongst organisms and environment. I would say that respiration is the most important of the characteristics, although all are important. Come to think of it, we can do without all other characteristics for more than an hour especially while sleeping or unconscious, but we can not do without respiration.
A water that does not takes in or gives out (a lake) gives bad smell. Giving is as important as living. We should all take note that there is nothing we have to that we have not received, it is important not to break the chain of giving.
A giver's hand is always on top of the receiver's hand. Not that how well a life is lived is not measured by How much you receive but by how much you give.
