Today it's a nice Friday, I'm on day 931 since the #quarantine was announced in #Venezuela due to the #COVID-19 #pandemic, we have rainy weather and that means I have to run to do all the work I can before running out of service electric. We are in the tropics, so having heavy rainy seasons at this time of year is very normal, but unfortunately, we have a terrible culture of maintenance of drains, riverbeds and public services in general, in part due to an endemic corruption and partly due to administrative mismanagement, which is related to having a real problem in establishing priorities for the use of resources, so it is very common to observe protests at the doors of hospitals because there are no supplies to attend to the sick and treating patients in public hospitals, while government leaders are calling for festivals, parties, fairs and the most joyous celebrations... It is as if we live in two different realities, on the one hand, misery extreme and abject poverty of about 75% of the population, and the affluence of about 5% of the people, more than all the people who have gotten rich in years recent for the 'benefits' of being part of the government or having not entirely clean ties with government officials.
In these circumstances, and in the midst of the protests, the same thing happens as in other parts of the world where conflicts arise, whether internal or external, in all of them it happens that when one wants to find out what is happening and how the events unfold, we find ourselves in a sea of lies in which all sides lie, to disqualify their enemies and to gain legitimacy or have a 'just cause'.
All this preamble is because an announcement came to my email today from a group of #FakeNew hunters who have the thankless task of reviewing #news published on social networks and following up on them, with which they have sometimes pointed out the existence of #bots and trend manipulation and 'public opinion' farms that violate people's right to be duly informed. The email took me to the link about #EFE's Tools: https://fakenewsvenezuela.org/en-profundidad/herramientas-de-verificacion-de-efe/ where the issue was being addressed that:
That led me to remember the phrase I used for the image of this post, which has several versions, said by different personalities at different times, so I had to select one of those versions to quote it and give a corollary to my record of the day. After all, the proliferation of false or manipulated news by WhatsApp chains becomes something that seems like an epidemic, I guess it fits the term #Infodemic that the World Health Organization #WHO already uses and that you can consult at: https:/ /www.who.int/health-topics/infodemic#tab=tab_1
Well, the rain calmed down a bit, I have to cook quickly in case they leave me without service anyway, so I'd better leave the publication until this point, I wish you well and that we can read each other again another time.

Es un agradable viernes, estoy en el día 931 desde que en #Venezuela se anunció la #cuarentena pro la #pandemia de #Covid19, tenemos clima de lluvias y eso implica que debo correr para hacer todo el trabajo que pueda antes de quedarme sin servicio eléctrico. Estamos en el trópico, así que tener temporadas de fuertes lluvias en este tiempo del año es algo muy normal, pero por desgracia, tenemos una pésima cultura de mantenimiento de drenajes, cauces de ríos y de servicios públicos en general, en parte debido a una corrupción endémica y en parte debido a mal manejo administrativo, cosa que se relaciona con tener un verdadero problema en el establecimiento de prioridades para el uso de recursos, así es muy cotidiano observar protestas a las puertas de hospitales porque no hay insumos para atender a los enfermos y dar tratamiento a los pacientes de los hospitales públicos, mientras que los dirigentes del gobierno están convocando a festivales, fiestas, ferias y celebraciones de lo más alegres... Es como si viviéramos en dos realidades distintas, por una parte, la miseria extrema y pobreza abyecta de aproximadamente el 75% de la población, y la opulencia de aproximadamente el 5% de la gente, más que todo la gente que se ha enriquecido en años recientes por los 'beneficios' de ser parte del gobierno o tener vínculos no del todo limpios con funcionarios del gobierno.
En estas circunstancias, y en medio de las protestas, sucede lo mismo que en otras partes del mundo en donde se presentan conflictos, ya sean internos o externos, en todos ellos sucede que al querer informarse uno de que sucede y como se desarrollan los hechos, nos encontramos en un mar de mentiras en las que todos los bandos mienten, para descalificar a sus enemigos y para ganar legitimidad o tener una 'causa justa'.
Todo este preámbulo es porque me llegó hoy al correo un anuncio de un grupo de cazadores de #FakeNew que tiene la ingrata tarea de revisar #noticas que se publican en las redes sociales y darles seguimiento, con lo que han señalado en ocasiones la existencia de #bots y de granjas de manipulación de tendencias y de 'opinión pública' que violan el derecho de la gente a estar debidamente informados. el correo me llevó al enlace de https://fakenewsvenezuela.org/en-profundidad/herramientas-de-verificacion-de-efe/ en donde se estaba abordando el tema de que:
Eso me llevó a recordar la frase que usé para la imagen de este post, que tiene varias versiones, dichas por distintas personalidades en distintas épocas, así que me tocó seleccionar una de esas versiones para citarla y darle un corolario a mi registro del día.
