I'm finishing up the day on Wednesday, March 27, and I've noticed that I've gotten quite distracted with some minor tasks. I almost left the day's record undone, but I remembered it in time to post. Not much has happened in my daily #life, so I really don't have any notable news to share. That leads me to go almost directly to commenting on an anniversary of the day.
I usually complement my daily publication with comments on one of the #Ephemeris of #History that corresponds to the current date. So today I'm taking the same route for publishing. But, the celebration I found on the list turned out to be quite recent. Estoy terminando el día miércoles, 27 de marzo, y he notado que me he distraído bastante con algunas tareas menores. Casi dejo sin hacer el registro del día, pero lo recordé a tiempo para poder publicar. No ha pasado gran cosa en mi #vida cotidiana, así que en verdad no tengo novedades resaltantes que compartir. Eso me lleva a que pase casi directo a comentar sobre una efeméride del día.

It caught my attention that the proposal was born from a #religious area, but it is understandable. For quite some time, hope and faith were quite related. Personally, I think that in many cases they merge into a very solid unit.
Although for many people, hope is a very good thing, there are times when I remember that not all of us see it with the same good eyes. Such is the case that I found years ago in a book by Nietzsche, I think it was in “Human, Too Human”. In this book approximately 1400 aphorisms were gathered. And in its themes you can find very interesting things.
Among these aphorisms, we have the one that says something like: 'In reality, hope is the worst of evils, because it prolongs man's torment.'

Me llamó la atención que la propuesta naciera de un ámbito #religioso, pero es algo comprensible. Durante bastante tiempo, la esperanza y la fe estuvieron bastante emparentadas. En lo personal, creo que en muchos casos se funden en una unidad muy sólida.
Aunque para mucha gente, la esperanza es algo muy bueno, hay momentos en que me acuerdo que no todos la vemos con los mismos buenos ojos. Tal es el caso que me encontré hace años en un libro de #Nietzsche, creo que fue en “Humano, demasiado humano”. En este libro se reunían aproximadamente 1400 aforismos. Y en sus temas se pueden encontrar cosas muy interesantes.
De entre estos aforismos, tenemos el que dice algo como: ‘En realidad, la esperanza es el peor de los males, pues prolonga el tormento del hombre’.

Let's admit that this author is not exactly delicate in expressing his points of view, contrary to many things of his time, and that even today would be shocking to some people. Other than that, I must say that I understand him a little, from the perspective of old Greek mythology.
Some time ago, my brother had pointed out that the mythology of Pandora's Box caught his attention, especially the part in which, after having let all the evils in the box escape, the woman (Pandora) manages to close the box again and only one entity was trapped inside. That entity offered to make a deal with it. Pandora never let him escape, and she made a deal with this 'thing'.
My brother wondered how terrible that creature had to be for it to be chained to the depths of the box that contained all evils. Besides, it was quite terrifying, from a certain point of view, that he had offered to hunt down his former companions. It's like a human making a deal with an extraterrestrial force to hunt down and eliminate all other humans… that's not pretty.

Admitamos que este autor no es precisamente delicado para expresar sus puntos de vista, contrarios a muchas cosas de su época, y que aún en la actualidad resultaría chocante para algunas personas. Fuera de eso, debo decir que le entiendo un poco, desde la perspectiva de la vieja mitología griega.
Hace tiempo, mi hermano había señalado que le llamaba la atención la mitología de la Caja de Pandora, sobre todo la parte en que luego de haber dejado escapar a todos los males que había en la caja, la mujer (Pandora), logra cerrar de nuevo la caja y solamente quedaba atrapada dentro una entidad que se ofreció a hacer un trato con ella. Pandora nunca le dejó escapar, y estableció un trato con esta cosa.
Mi hermano se preguntaba qué tan terrible tenía que ser esa criatura como para que estuviera encadenada a lo más profundo de la caja que contenía todos los males. Además de que era bastante aterrador, desde cierto punto de vista, que se hubiera ofrecido a cazar a sus antiguos compañeros. Es como si un humano hiciera un trato con una fuerza extraterrestre para cazar y eliminar a todos los demás humanos… eso no es bonito.

The deal between #Hope and Pandora gives a lot to think about.
For my part, I admit that I like hope. I believe that, if taken within reasonable and credible limits, it can help you stay on your feet or get back up in the face of problems. The bad thing is when it becomes a crazy hope or one without any real foundation, because then we will have people who insist on a lost or self-destructive cause, with the 'Faith' that 'this time we are going to make it work.' That terrifies me.
Well, do you have your own idea of Hope?

Lo malo es cuando se convierte en una esperanza loca o sin fundamento real, porque entonces tendremos a personas que insisten en una causa perdida o autodestructiva, con la ‘Fe’ de que ‘esta vez sí vamos a lograr que funcione’. Eso me aterra.

For me, Hope the driving force to move forward! Without the hope for the betterment in the world and the hereafter, we wouldn't live our lives!

Nietzsche was a brilliant philosopher, but his stance towards the world and towards humanity was very strong. I would almost say that he was hostile to hypocrisy, self-deception, and other things that common human society employs to maintain social cohesion and peace.
In view of that, it is not surprising that he developed mental problems at the end of his life. It is even suspected that he had several difficulties with his mind since he was young, but that is another story.

I find this view of hope fascinating. I suppose how we see the world makes a difference, whether you wish to see it in a positive light or otherwise. As for me, I think I'll see it as "when hope is all you've got, you've still got a lot." Got that line from a poem that I don't remember anymore 😁 anyway, keep the interesting views coming. I like hope. I am only wary of 'crazy hope' or unfounded hope, which is very similar to blind fanaticism and destructive belief. Otherwise, hope is a great thing to keep your head above water when problems overwhelm you.
So, in itself, hope is not bad. We simply have to have some realistic hope, or at least some hope based on something that leads us to such 'Hope' becoming part of our future reality, through our work.
