I wonder about this because of a certain 2007 movie, in which a plush rabbit doll named Mimzy turned out to be some kind of artificial life form, and when scientists took a sample of its fur to study, they observed it in electron microscope at its maximum power and found an incredible mark that indicated who its manufacturer was... It was Intel, but it was an application of nanotechnology that does not exist in our time.
The resource of placing a brand of a product in a TV series or in a #movie is what I remember a colleague called 'Brand Positioning', and it was a widely used advertising trick. So, seeing a fictional movie in which it was postulated that the company #Intel continued to exist in the future and manufactured nanotechnology components... well, it is valid advertising and fits into the plot of the movie.
