Yeah, I've seen that, and the first thing that came to mind was Java, which can work well, but also not, too. I like tailoring software to hardware. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Yes indeed, and it’s one of the big benefits of Apple over many others, they have total control over their hardware, and as such, they can totally tailor the software to the hardware, giving them a big advantage!

Yes, even though I despise Apple, I will admit that they do make a solid operating system framework, where all of their hardware and devices work well together. The software is usually quite smooth. It's based in part on BSD, so that's not surprising. You can compile kernels and apps in Linux for the specific hardware that you have on your computer. I compiled my own kernels for my laptops for a long time. Arch Linux makes it quite easy. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Yup, that’s indeed a strength of Linux (btw, if Apple DIDN’T use BSD underneath, I wouldn’t even touch it!!! :-D ), and indeed, I’ve compiled my own kernels for years as well. Even wrote parts of the Linux Base system for a while :-) Many many many moons ago :-D
A big issue with Linux, unfortunately, is still compatibility with some major software companies, which are sometimes required for business. I try to “fix” this as much as possible by using emulators or virtual machines :-)

So much yes (that's very good to know, and yeah, I wouldn't even tolerate it if it didn't, as well)! Dude, you're a Linux Rockstar!! prostrates himself to the ground at your feet Yep, compatibility with software from major corporations is definitely a thing, and that's exactly how I deal with the issue, too, with emulators and VMs. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Indeed, I think, the day that Adobe decided to fully support Linux, the tables would turn quickly!!!

Yep, that would be a big one, so would Photoshop. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

I’ve never been a big fan nor user of photoshop, but Lightroom is my goto app. There are good alternatives that work well under Linux, yet they’ve never been able to satisfy my professional needs.
