ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PORT

in Wednesday Walk4 years ago (edited)

In the last year, year and a few months of my Cryptosocial activity, I published quite a few posts about the small port of the village called Liznjan ...

... and since this is a really small place, putting out yet another one, could look like one too much ... but there is always something photogenic going on here ... and cool details are unpredictably scattered all around ... and also, I always showed here the central part, around the main fishing dock, forgetting the other side of the bay. On this photograph, a local fisherman is using a small boat to get through the shallows to the bigger boat anchored in deeper water.

Here is a lovely, pretty elegant small boat ...

... with a funny green flag, displaying a cartoonish Hyena and that word, Hyena written in Croatian. This is also the name of the boat. Sounds a bit like the kind of name appropriate for a bunch of cartoonish pirates.
IMG_3210 samoMALO.jpg
As the flag flutters on the wind, the Hyena keeps changing its shape, from fat to thin and vice versa. This Hyena is not the only pet here ...
IMG_3227 malo.jpg
... there is also a cat in the bay ...

... and she's greeting the humans who are visiting the bay.

Sometimes she provides free guided tours.

These two old agave are overlooking the port from the year ... I don't know exactly, but they are experienced overlookers, that's for sure.
IMG_3157 malo.jpg
Here is a nice spiral detail from the agave.
IMG_3151 malo.jpg
This old, overturned ship is resting near the succulent plants ...
IMG_3150 malo.jpg
... and there is another, more streamlined ship laying a bit further.
IMG_3202 malo.jpg
This is a view at the other side of the bay ... the main fishing dock is relatively far, to small on the photograph to be recognizable ...
IMG_3201 samoMALO.jpg
... but with a bit of zooming, we can be instantly transported there ...
IMG_3205 samoMALO.jpg
... among the recreational anglers ...
IMG_3200 samoMALO.jpg
... waiting for some big catch ...
IMG_3218 malo.jpg
... or whatever the future brings ...
IMG_3203 malo.jpg
... while a fish hunter of the more professional kind is on his way to throw the nets in the deeper, more open waters.
IMG_3158 malo.jpg
Here is some artwork on the small summer house ... and on the following photograph ...
IMG_3225 malo.jpg
... you can take a look at a nice little reminder on what not to do in this part of the bay.
IMG_3149 malo.jpg
This large bucket with some nets in it is situated near the billboard you just saw ... and somehow looks like part of the message, although a very unclear one.
IMG_3226 malo.jpg
Not far from there you can visit this nice recreational kayak, firmly stranded on the dry land.
IMG_3254 malo.jpg
This is a great place for lovers of stranded or overturned boats ...
IMG_3250 malo.jpg
... or boats in general ...
(Enlargeable)
... I like this couple of old ruins very much ... this is a very photogenic example of coastal decay.
(Enlargeable)
This funny little overturned boat is laying nearby ...
IMG_3241 malo.jpg
... it has two small wheels ... and is chained to a rusted pole ... like some wild thing, always ready to escape if the chance is there.
(Enlargeable)
Those boats that are still floating ...
(Enlargeable)
... are bound with ropes to a variety of small makeshift docks made of planks and rusted tubes.
(Enlargeable)
They look similar at first glance, but each one has some unique details if you take a better look.
IMG_3256 malo.jpg
Some boats are floating disconnected from the docks.
IMG_3257 malo.jpg
Here is a shot with a bit of iconic coastal vegetation in the foreground ...
IMG_3259 malo.jpg
... and here your eyes can enjoy some interesting and colorful succulent plant.
IMG_3219 malo.jpg
This is some lovely and abandoned summer shack.
IMG_3237 malo.jpg
These are the skeletal remains of some old dock.
IMG_3262 malo.jpg
This lovely little red submarine ...
(Enlargeable)
... was once a lovely little floating boat.
IMG_3264 malo.jpg
If you approach it from the other direction, it looks very different on photograph - THE END ... wow, what an abrupt ending :D even I am surprised !
As always in these walks on HIVE, all the photographs are my work.

Very nice and easy going place for a lazy walk just looking around and be close to the water. You should have a small boat so that you could go sailing on the water just for fun!

True :) I had one, some years ago ... I'll get another soon, I think.

Oh! You’ll get a small boat! That would be nice! You could go rowing and swimming too.
