Ambling Among The Whispers of the Bamboos with my Family | A Must Needed Walk! πŸŽ‹

in Wednesday Walk β€’ 10 months ago

A week ago, I and my family went to the neighboring hospital to accompany my sister during her husband's surgical operation. The weather was gloomy at that time which added to the overall mood of the situation. My sister was calm and composed but we knew that deep inside she was nervous and anxious more so her husband. Thus we accompanied them in support and provide comfort during this challenging time.

We tried to lighten the atmosphere by cracking jokes and sharing positive thoughts. When we felt everything was getting lighter and better we left the hospital as only two persons were allowed to get in and take care of the patient.

Before going home, I saw the need to take a walk to recharge our energies and release our worries somewhere tranquil. During challenging times, walking or strolling always alleviates my mood and gives me clear and positive thinking. I knew my family would feel the same too. Thankfully there was the best place I knew, not too far from the hospital where we could have our refreshing walk! So we all grab the chance to ease our worries and find solace in nature.

So in this blog, I'll be bringing you with me on our walk focusing on the beauty and serenity of the Bamboo forest which made us feel refreshed and escape our anxieties at that moment. So come and join me. Taraaa let's go!

Fresh from the rain! Welcome to Bamboo Forest!

Medellin's Refreshing Bamboo Forest

My father complained when he learned that we have to pay an Entrance Fee for us to stroll around the Bamboo Forest. For him, nature should be free for all, especially since it is just a "group of bamboo" which we also have at home (another specie), so I explained to him that this Bamboo forest is maintained and developed by private individuals that's why it requires us to pay to get in and marvel its beauty.

This lush bamboo sanctuary is owned by the wealthy hacienderos of Medellin. At first, this haven was open and free and quietly growing in the corner of the sugarcane plantation, this only get famous during the pandemic when one local passed this place amazed, took a photo of it, and uploaded it to social media. Local tourists in the town and from the city, then flock to this paradise to see the majestic beauty of the Bamboos in their own eyes.

This is the tidiest and most organized Group of Bamboo I ever saw!

The number of crowds visiting the Bamboo Forest brought opportunities to the owner and the locals in the place. So the owners developed, maintained, and made the forest exclusive to better serve the tourists who traveled far just to witness the one-of-a-kind and enchanting Bamboo forest of Medellin.

Dayun Ta Diri, Let's get in!

When we reached the location, we were thrilled to see what beauty lay inside because a tall fence enclosed the forest entrance, allowing only the Bamboo leaves and the upper part of the stems to be visible from the outside. I paid the entrance fee and we all excitedly get in. At this point already, our anxieties were slowly fading.

After paying the 30php (0.54USD) entrance fee!

As soon as we stepped inside, the silent worries that we had began to dissipate. I linger my eyes on the lush and majestic bamboo first before I started my walk. The bamboos were neatly planted by groups and are perfectly aligned.

Everything looks like a tunnel of greens as the stalks of the bamboo bend toward each other. It honestly felt like nature is humbly welcoming us.

IMG20230719123018.jpg

There are cemented walkways at the center of the forest making our walk convenient, especially at that time the ground was wet. Every step I took was a chance to embrace nature in this unique setting. Bamboo is very common in my place growing randomly and being very tall, but I never imagined it could look paradisiacal as this, providing sanctuary to all its guests.

Other amenities which brought comfort.

Aside from the lush sceneries of the forest, it also has amenities that provide comfort, additional attraction, and cozy cottages that are placed at the sides of the forest where we could pause, reflect and find respite from the weight of our heavy thoughts.

How about a swing?

There are also instagrammable corners in the middle of the forest such as the Korean-like entrance arc, the hanging umbrellas, and the tractor which highlights the main source of livelihood in Medellin. Among those picturesque views, my favorite was the bamboo swing inviting me to swing and let go of our troubles with each gentle sway.

The presence of food and drink stalls can also be found inside the forest. They also have their restaurant but at that time wasn't in function.

Natural and Pure

Though the Bamboo forest was developed to cater to the need of the guest and satisfy Filipinos' love of taking instagrammable shots, the authenticity and purity of the bamboo forest prevailed, casting a spell of tranquility all over the place to those who will enter its embrace.

As I walked along the forest, I made sure to marvel at almost all groups of bamboo shoots. They were so clean and each of the stalks have different patterns. Looking at how fast and gracefully this bamboo grows, no doubt after 10 years the whole place will be filled with canopies of bamboo leaves!

Another one to grow!

We greatly enjoyed our refreshing stroll. As we walked deeper and further, our worries felt insignificant anymore. The whole place was just so calming whispering us words of comfort and strength that everything would be alright.

IMG20230719124937.jpg

Refreshed and relieved after the walk!

That was a walk that we badly needed. We just had a gift of nature's healing embrace. We came in accompanied by worries but we came out filled with a newfound sense of peace and resilience.

That's all for our refreshing walk along the Bamboo forest. I hope you found peace and strength too by the views. Thank you so much for reading guys. Wish you all safe and well always.

Don't forget to smile often!πŸ€—πŸ˜

Sort: Β

The place looks foreign when there aint no people in it. πŸ˜†

But then again, the owners are creative for making a unique attraction like this.

We were lucky that there weren't people during our visit Miss. Or else we won't be enjoying the place jd.

Even the restaurants there were not operating at that time. As in Walay tawo.

When I was young I was afraid of passinh by the bamboo trees because the sounds? I find it weird, not to mention it bends. Had that thought it would pick me up and throw me somewhere 🀣.

Now, seeing your blogs makes reminds me that silly thoughts of mine.

The place gives that Baguio feels
And the entrance fee is so sulit!

Haha. Kids really are good at imagining things.!

In our countryside, we intentionally put benches or bamboo bed under the bamboo trees because it gives a cold breeze, (colder than conditioned air ) 😊. and the sounds of the bamboo stalks every time it bends due to the winds is a good harmony to listen to. Hehe

My father didn't feel that the entrance fee was worth it. He was complaining yet he also enjoyed the the refreshing and unique view of the Bamboo forest.

Thank you Miss Lhes, for dropping by. I appreciate it. 😍 Have a good night!

I also grew up in the countryside but the bamboo stress to pass by was kinda creepy for me.
Or maybe it was due to listening horror dramas in radio before.
Goodness, feel so old, inabot ko drama sa radio πŸ“»πŸ˜‚πŸ₯Ή
