Put on your walking shoes and walk with me in Los Alcazares. We love to go to LA (No, not Los Angeles) to have a walk near the beach. I noticed there are a lot of mural paintings in town so I looked it up. I'm not talking about the graffiti style, but real pieces of art. On the website of tourism I saw they do a guided tour in town. There are more than 150 paintings and the guided tour is only doing a small amount of them. So I want to discover them by myself. It gives me a good reason to do several walks over there. As they're spread all over town it's not possible for me to do them in one track.
I knew a good parking place near the office of tourism, I got my camera gear ready ... Here I go!
As soon as I left the office I saw the first 2 paintings.
I tried to look up information, but couldn't find the artist. The first 18 paintings are made in 2013. Later on more festivals were held where national and international artists joined. The latest additions are from May 2022.
So sad to see people damaged this painting.
That's it for this week. I enjoyed the walk and it gave me inspiration to make a cartoon (Mo wants to be a street artist). While I was walking I met another photographer and I had a nice conversation with him. He was smarter than me, he was on a bicycle! Hahahaha. No kidding, I will do the next walking, it's too much hassle with the camera gear!

Thanks for your kind comment. I still need to do some more walkings to discover all of them. That's a real challenge as not all of them can be found on a map. They're more than 150!

I so can imagine. When we travel to cities where there is lots of StreetArt works, we try to go first to the ones known and than we just wander around, it is always great to just walk around a corner and find a new work of art.
We did just that the last 5 days on our trip to Paris.
I knew some locations… but 80% what I found wasn’t on any map. We just stumbled upon them. Will share some tomorrow and more in the coming weeks 😎

I'm looking forward to your posting! I like it when they're not all on the map. That gives me a feeling like I just have to tick the box ... Been there, done that. Strolling around in the town and discover them by yourself is so much more fun!

Yes, I see it the same. Don’t want to thick boxes… we always explore of the beaten track on holidays and don’t want to do the touristy things hahaha 🤣 more exciting and a true adventure too.

Indeed it's very sad to see such pieces of art being destroyed. They have no respect or maybe they're so jealous because they can only make stupid "drawings"? I will never understand the reason why they do this. 😥

Those are really cool paintings. They somehow remind me of my childhood when I'd watch an artist draw on our school walls. I was always fascinated. Do you make cartoons? Like comics or moving pictures? hehehehe

Ah these are so cool! Don't you just love bumping on these artworks everywhere? I know I do. Last month when we were at our second stay, the first night walk on the boulevard, two street artists were starting on one artwork and just finished another one. Over the week, we managed to capture their progress. I yet have to share it, but it's pretty cool to see how these start to come to life!

Yeah, I prefer to get surprised. Sadly there was a big festival here in May when they added new works. I wish I was here that time to see it happening. Now I can only see the final result which is also nice but imagine you can follow up the process. At first you have nu idea what it's gonna be and you can imagine yourself and then you slowly see what it will be like. Must be amazing!
