Creating moments in unexpected adventure is memorable. The excitement and the expectation of the place together with the people you don't expect to be in that moment makes it more fun and remarkable. I don't know, I prefer an adventure that I don't have an idea where to go, an unplanned one, it makes me excited more and imagines what the place looks like. How about you? Do you prefer a planned Adventure or an Unplanned One?
This adventure I will share with you today is an unexpected visit to a place in Tabogon Cebu Philipines that they called little Batanes. This happened one Saturday afternoon September 9, 2023, after our Hive Onboarding Orientation in maam @naymhapz residence.
To tell you, our main objective on that Saturday is just to hold the Onboarding orientation. We didn't plan a side trip that time just like what we did on our previous onboarding. It just happened when maam @naymhapz suggested this place to us while we were having our lunch. She asked us if we wanted to visit this Little Batanes since we didn't have things to do after.
For everyone's information, talking about Batanes or a comparison with this place we are expecting wide green grass of mountains. Batanes is known for its beautiful natural landscape that everyones dreams of visiting.
That's the first image pop up in my head after hearing the name of the place. It makes me excited and I think @ybanezkim26 and @indayclara as well cause we are a little eager to see it even though it is starting to drizzle we still continue to discover it, and in fact, they said it is just five minutes away from Maam @naymhapz house, so we expect a few walks to reach it.
After the little rain stops, we begin to walk into this place. With me are (@callmesmile, @naymhapz ,@jobeliever, @annetimistic, @iamgagz09, @indayclara , @ybanezkim26 and the 3 cute kiddos).
The walking adventure starts from this road beside the school of Caduawan Elementary School. It's a two-way lane where a car can enter, after school, you will see vegetables and corn crops planted beside the road, and then few minutes you will be amazed by a wide green grass open area.
At first, we thought it was already the little Batanes they say, cause it's a green wide area already and makes me a little awe. But they say we need to reach those top mountains and walk for another minute to see it.
We took a few photos on this part cause the view is very nice, @indayclara and one of the beautiful kiddos love this view and have fun with the camera. It's a little gloomy when we start walking but when we are about to reach the cemetery, Mr. Sun shines with rage, it's really hot and humid. Good we bring some umbrellas but most of us take the sun openly. By the way, it's 1:30 pm in the afternoon when we start walking.
After passing the cemetery, this beautiful green field welcomes us beautifully. The wind is strong on this part and it makes a whistle sound. I think this is one of the best views of the area. We take a lot of photos and selfies as souvenirs here. Those green colors are refreshing to the eyes. Even though the sun was so high that time we didn't mind it.
After a few steps, the concrete road ended but were not yet at our target place. It's already 1:50 P.M. The 5 minutes distance they say is already 20 minutes of walk we have 🤣. This time we need to climb up the mountain, the way is not so stiff and thanks god it's not also muddy even after the rain drops.
At this time we all now feel the exhaustion, the hotness of the sun, Look at the face of ma'am @jobeliever, I don't know if she is happy or not on this adventure. hahaha, You can see in the face of everyone that they are tired but smiling 🤣. After 10 minutes of climbing, thank god we reach this house and shade off from the sun. We are all thirsty and tired at the same time, we are glad they also sell bottled water in their store.
While drinking our water, the father of the family offered us their cozy hut at the back of their house so we could stay and rest after the exhausting walk. Everyone was happy with the gesture of the father, We are very thankful for his generosity.
The hut is two-storey made of bamboo and nipa hut. Above the hut, you will see in the front the overview of beautiful wide green grass that we crossed on. At the back of the hut, the view is the huge mountains that maam @naymhapz @jobeliever and @callmesmile already conquered. at the perimeter of the hut, there is a long chair under the bamboo grass where everyone can sit and relax. they also built 3 swings which the children and even us enjoyed.
The view from this spot is superb and relaxing. You can inhale the fresh air and feel the vibe of nature. We stay here for 40 minutes in total. Some of us like @callmesmile, @jobeliever, and @ybanezkim26 took a short nap above the hut, while some of us, talked about this place, we also tackled everyone's experience in Hive and their journey. While the kids playing and enjoying the swings.
Ten minutes before we go home, @indayclara @annetimistic and I together with these two lovely kiddos climb up the adjacent mountain where they say the perfect view for little Batanes will be captured. It is also the camping site of this place. But when we started to climb it, The sky started to get dark and cover the beautiful blue sky earlier. And we are worried that it will rain again in no time.
We took a few photos but sadly the weather ruined the view, It became gloomy again and my phone camera is not built for this kind of weather to capture nice photos. But still, the overview above is amazing. The view also in the mountainside is simply beautiful, the kids and I enjoy and love it. After Three minutes at the top, we decided to go back and ask the others to go home because in no time the rain would drop.
It's 3:00 pm already when we start going down and go home. Our adventure in this place takes one and a half hours in total. Though the Five-minute walk to Little Batanes was a scam 😅, we still enjoyed our stay and adventure in this place.
A real Batanes raw landscape is incomparable, But this place they have in Tabogon Cebu I think can pass as part of Batanes. It has a unique beauty and landscape that everyone surely loves. We are glad and thankful that they bring us to this place, It's another memorable experience and discovery we have.
How to Reach Little Batanes
If you plan to experience this place, its exact location is in Caduawan Tabogon, Cebu Philippines. It is a 3-hour journey from the City of Cebu, Just Ride a bus to North Bus Terminal it will cost you 4$ for the fare then drop at Caduawan Elementary School. From there you may ride a motorcycle going to the camping site of the place.
You can also ride a private vehicle but I advise a 2-wheel vehicle, as you read on my blog the road going to the camping site is not yet accessible to 4 wheels. The place is free entrance for now, you can set up a tent if you want to overnight. There is also a for-rent A-house that can accommodate you in the area.
That's it for this blog, I hope you have fun reading and discover new places in this Unexpected walking adventure in the Little Batanes of Tabogon Cebu Philippines.

Unplanned gala is always the best, kasi natutuloy (≧▽≦).
But OMG, the view while you all just walking to get to the destination is already a beauty. Even me enjoyed your walk thanks to these photos here. It always fun to have this kind of walk kapag marami kayo no. At least may karamay sa pagod hahaha pero may karamay din naman sa pag witness ng kagandahan nitong place (✿^‿^)
Indeed, natutuloy pag di nagplaplano hahaha. Having with this company is fun. Glad you like it @ruffatotmeee
It works with everyone talaga no, haha.
I enjoy both planned and impromptu adventures. Sometimes, I spontaneously pack my things and head to a place without searching on the internet. I simply ask the locals about the tourist spots in their area. To be honest, I find it boring someimes to have a set itinerary to follow.
Dli raman sayang ang pagbaktas kay nindot raman ang view. Tarunga nang 5 minutes nga walk nga nahimu nang 20 minutes, kanang mo-ingun ang uban naa ras unahan pero perti diay kalayo 🤣🤣
hahaha this is true, sometimes ma bored gyud ug mawala ang trill
-Worth it ang baktas bisag na scam sa 5 minutes hahaha
Wow! It depicts a simple life in the province where the surrounding view is so cool just like when you are in the mountains of Batanes.
It feels like in Batanes. Its nice to have some walk here sometimes
What a lovely trip you had.
