It's growing season! On a happy walk with my papa watching our fruits grow! :-D

Hi Hiveians! I went on a nice #Wednesdaywalk with my papa today and took a look at our plants. We grow fruit and vegetable trees and plants here. Now some of the trees are finally producing fruit! We're so happy it's growing season! So we decided to grab some photos for you guys too on our walk. 😀

We were very happy when we took a look at our banana tree, because about one or two days ago a pod opened up with flowers that is about to produce some bananas!

These are two papaya trees that we recently planted about a month ago. There is a third one but I didn't get that in the photo.

These are passion fruit or passiflora vines. The fruit is called "maracuyá" in Spanish. We call them passion fruit. They haven't grown any fruit or flowers yet but they are growing very well. Just so you know, there's many iguanas where we live and passion fruit leaves are a big treat for them. The iguanas really like it and it's hard to keep them away. We tried to put garlic around them because we heard that it keeps them away, but that didn't work. Do you know any other tricks to keep iguanas from chomping down on your passion fruit leaves? If you do, I'm happy to hear from you in the comments below. :-)

This is a moringa tree, AKA "the miracle tree". We grow very many of these trees because the moringa tree has very many uses. Some people crush the leaves to make powders. The leaves are very edible too. Sometimes we just pick off a few moringa leaves off the tree and eat them while we're on a walk. Moringa leaves are great for salads too.
The moringa tree produces a vegetable. We call them "moringa drumsticks" because they look like drumsticks hehe. One time we peeled them and boiled them with some salt and ate them. This tree in the photo doesn't have any yet, but it's making flowers. :-D

Why is it called "the miracle tree"?

They call it the miracle tree because the're so many benefits. Let's take a look at some of them:

  • Reduces blood sugar

  • Lowers cholesteral

  • Helps wounds heal faster

  • Treats depression, anxiety and stress

  • Helps to fight infections

  • Improves eye health

  • Prevents formation of plaque in the arteries

  • Provides protection against Alzheimer

It helps with so much more. This is why we keep many of these trees because it's like our super tree!

These are 14 more banana trees. There are 3 rows of them. When we planted them, we wanted their height to go from big to small. :-)

Thank you for viewing my post, I hope you enjoyed it and enjoy the rest of your day!
