A loving greeting to all my Hive friends, especially to the Wednesday adventurers. This week I am very happy to be able to share with you a wonderful experience that was not only a ride but also a very intense experience because of all the energies that were found in the same place. It was a long trip that my dear @aly.squid and I made to the city of Caracas to enjoy the first Viva Venezuela World Festival.

This festival was a nationwide proposal to bring together the different cultural manifestations in the same space: The Monumental Stadium "Simon Bolivar" located in La Rinconada, Caracas. This was a meeting of the collective memory of our country. Where communities that have been performing their traditions for decades and producing in their day to day cultural heritage of this country, whose history is full of rebellion and resistance and is clearly expressed in the roar of the drums, dances, traditional musical instruments, their poetry and songs, their colors and beauty, were shining.

10.jpg

The trip to Caracas, our capital city, usually took twelve hours by bus, but with the bad state of the roads and vehicles, as well as the protocols at the checkpoints every time we went from one state to another, this time it took us 18 hours to get there. Although it was quite tiring, I can't complain. The trip was promoted by the Ministry of Culture and we were provided with delicious snacks throughout the trip, including fast food, candy and a variety of drinks for hydration.

When we arrived from the state of Táchira, in the southwest of the country, to the capital, we were surprised to see in the parking lot of the Monumental Stadium "Simón Bolívar" all the buses that mobilized from each of the 23 states of Venezuela to their artists and culturists. As soon as the groups got off the buses, they joined the great sharing, which from the parking lot already announced what was to come. A great colorful party where the drums resounded and the people danced carrying their saints and the songs shook the skins with those milling voices inherited from Africa.

Neither Aly nor I had been to the "Simon Bolivar" Monumental Stadium. We were fascinated to see its immensity and how well organized everything was to receive visitors from all over the country. We arrived at noon and the activity was scheduled to begin at 6 pm, clearly we had to wait for people from all states to arrive, including those who would be presented on the big stage that was imposed in the center of the stadium to the eyes of more than five thousand spectators.

11.jpg

Six hours might seem like a long time in another context, but this time for us it was too short. We set aside our seats with some friends and went to the area where they sell food and drinks in the stadium. We were again amazed to find a huge party set up. The amount of people gathered in front of the different food stands was impressive, each group offering their regional manifestation. And without the need of an artistic director, nor a speaker of order, nor scripts or scripts, they entered in harmonious order and made their closing to give way to the next community that wanted to present itself. Thus forming a loving dialogue between the different peoples of our country and their cultural expressions.

As I said 6 hours were not enough to enjoy so much artistic beauty. As 6 pm approached we returned to our seats with some delicious hot dogs and french fries in the best baseball stadium style. With the national anthem the activity started, it was impossible to hold back the tears when listening to the emotional lyrics of "Gloria al bravo pueblo" in the voice of thousands of Venezuelans. On the stage the most important representatives of traditional music accompanied the audience. Ivan Perez Rossi, Lilia Vera, Gualberto Ibarreto, among other greats.

18.jpg

Very emotional moments that provoked laughter, tears, shouts and applause. One of the most heartfelt for me was when Gualberto Ibarreto came out singing with his walker, since at 76 years old he has had several health problems. The audience gave him a standing ovation. And to see that show of love that thousands of spectators expressed to one of the most important exponents of our traditional music in such a vulnerable moment was simply beautiful.

16.jpg

Another detail that I found fascinating was that on stage we were able to enjoy a beautiful Colombian group called Palenque and also a Brazilian instrumental whose presentation cannot be explained in words because of its beauty. Of course, these performances could not be missed, since Colombia and Brazil are the two giants that share a border with Venezuela and that undoubtedly form an important part of our cultural development.

Six more hours of presentations on the stage and although our bodies were married we did not want to stop enjoying. But the time to return arrived and we had to say goodbye to Caracas and all its guests. 18 more hours of travel back. And after so much rolling we arrived with our bodies broken but rejoicing inside because we witnessed a historic and sublime encounter of our culture.

20.jpg

Without a doubt I feel very satisfied to have been part of this great meeting. And although the hours of travel were a lot, it is certainly a ride that I will not forget. I am glad to share it in the hive and that it remains here so that others can see it through the images that I leave you with much affection. For now I say goodbye, hoping as always to be here soon. I leave you a big hug, see you soon.
