Yes there is a reason. A few actually. This is inland of Spain. Even 1 hour drive inland from the coastal areas are like this. The countryside… people have to move out of, abandon the areas for work in the bigger cities and coast areas. Also the population is getting older. So the older people can not upkeep certain areas. The young ones are gone for work reasons. No one wants to move to the “dying areas”

The percentage of people without work is sooooo high in Spain. Especially for the younger generations.

Makes sense. I think the same happens in some parts of Italy as well, where they sell houses for 1 Euro. Looks like quite an opportunity to live the dream life.

Yes, it is… especially if you don’t need to go somewhere to work. And could work from home. This means you can live anywhere in the world you want. With some exceptions of course.

As this happens in many many other countries too. Even France and Italy.
