10,000 Steps During Volcanic Eruption

I never really walk around my mom's neighborhood but somehow, I knew, it would have been amazing to see the scenery. So, since I woke up pretty early that day, I put on my shoes and started to walk around the neighborhood.

The first thing I saw was this beautiful orange hue and smoke coming out of the mountain. My route is basically crossing the main road to the village surrounding the area.

As I walked more, I also saw this scenic rice field and the sky reflected through its ponded water.

That was the view until I reached the intersection that connects the main road to the famous temple in the country, Borobudur. In that intersection, there is a small park with two lions guarding and welcoming tourists who are going to the temple.

It wasn’t so cold that day and I felt like I already walked further than I had ever been. But I enjoyed it because the scenery that it offers was unmatched.

Somehow, I wondered why I never take this walk, knowing that the scenery would be the highlight.

Now, this has become a go-to routine whenever I am visiting the house.

On the way back, the scenery is even more stunning. There were more lush rice fields and mountains that were so visible from our naked eye. I wished I still had my camera and I would have captured the mountain even better than my phone would have.

This is the eruption moment and we're all pretty stunned. So, typically people around the area I am walking is also affected especially when the wind is blowing to their side. And the people around here is not surprised anymore whenever minor eruption happened. It's almost like regular events and they have no worries and continue their day.

I wasn’t really planning on walking 10.000 steps/day. But when I checked my phone, I reached that step. Typically, I only walk 6000 to less than that but that day, I realized I could actually do 10.000 steps/day.

This is another side of the neighborhood with different mountain. It's quite scenic to walk around the area and one of my favorite thing to do now.

It might have been a thrilling journey with the scenic background. Reminds me of our local Volcano here that keeps on spewing ashes continously. Keep safe and healthy. Thanks for the heads up wonderful photos !BBH !PIZZA

ooh! that volcano is like that, it's why it's just like regular Monday whenever the volcano spews ashes like that.

What a peaceful place, the view are just stunning. You'll really never notice that you already did 10k steps because your attention is occupied with the beauty on the way. Walking there in the morning is a nice choice. And I really love the last two photos at the end. └|∵|┐♪

hahahaha yeah, I didn't notice I would do the 10,000 steps. I was just excited seeing the view as it was so green and stunning around me. I don't get to see them daily.

Your mom's neighborhood is very beautiful and picturesque. The volcano is a sight to behold. What kind of danger do the people downwind of it face? Does the hot ash actually rain down?

Typically they would experience earthquake and the hot ash. My mother's house got rain down quite often too.

Well if you're going to hit this walk more often you can bring the other camera next timee XD It is quite a scenic route! Glad the volcano is not concerning enough that people are happy to go about their business while it's smouldering in the corner over there x_x

ahahahaha I am still manifesting that new camera! Also, it seems like volcano eruption is business as usual around there.

There goes the air pollution 😅 but I think that looks a lot like still a "young" volcanic mountain (because of its shape—I could be wrong haha). Usually they are very spike up. Good thing it didn't last long.
Keep up that 10K steps girl! I hope I could do that too. But now I am trying to maintain at least 3K steps a day, with my alternate day hula hoop....

That one is actually centuries old. It looks small in that picture but it's actually pretty big and again, my picture doesn't really do justice hehe. If they spike up, it's typically a bigger explosion and I wouldn't be out walking 10,000 steps hahahaha.

Right now, hitting 3-6k is already a good day for me. It's just that rarity for me to walk that far without any other motivation or a good scenery like that.

These photos are so well taken! :)

noooo, these aren't my best and I wished to take better pictures 😄

Looking forward to see the best ones next time! :P

It was a good decision that you made to walk around. Being very familiar with ones environment is a good thingbto practice as human.

Cheers 🍻

The shape of the volcano was perfect. A wonderful place to walk and enjoy the scenery . Peaceful and quite good for self recharging.

I hope to actually do it more often.

That is so much different from what we see on this part of the globe! While the few volcanoes we have stopped being active a long time ago and now serve as an interesting destination during a trip, many people tend to forget that real danger still exists in some parts of the world when it comes to volcanoes.

Yep! We have plenty volcanoes here and some of them are still active & people like to hike on them. There are many instances when it's erupting and people were still stuck at the mountain top.

Damn, that gives shivers going down the spine!

Very nice scenic views to walk around.
