Greetings everyone!
I'm going to Vicenza for the umpteenth time. This city is full of unexplored corners. Every time I discover new and new beautiful places in this oldest city in the province of Veneto. As a city, Vicenza was founded 3 thousand years ago by the Neo-Venetians. And the first settlements, according to the excavations, were here 250 years ago. The city reached its peak in the 17th century. It was here that the outstanding Italian architect Andrea Palladio lived and worked. He rebuilt the city, creating a new street and landscape design. No wonder Vicenza is called the city of Palladio! The best works of this artist are concentrated in Vicenza.

Вже в який раз я їду до Віченци. Це місто повне незвіданих куточків. Щоразу Я відкриваю нові і нові прекрасні місця в цьому найстарішому місті у провінції Венето. Як місто Віченца започаткована 3 тисячі років тому неовенеціанами. А перші поселення, згідно проведених розкопок тут були ще 250 років тому. Місто досягло найвищого розквіту в 17 столітті. Саме тут жив та працював видатний італійський архітектор Андреа Палладіо. Він розбудував місто, створивши новий дизайн вулиць та ландшафту. Недарма Віченцу називають містом Палладіо! Саме у Віченці зосереджені найкращі твори цього митця.
You can go to Vicenza, that is, to its historical center, through the gate. There are five gates in Vicenza. These gates, like the walls, had a great defensive significance in ancient times. The gate also served as a kind of customs border. The gates of Vicenza have their own names. These are Porta Feliciana, Porta Nova, Porta Pusterla, Porta S. Pietro e Porta Berga. I entered the historic center through Porta Castello. I was impressed by the medieval tower, 40 meters high. It was once part of the defensive wall. Rebuilt and restored many times, today it looks truly majestic. I enter the small square that precedes the main street, Corso del Popolo.
До Віченци, тобто до її історичного центру можна пройти через ворота. Воріт у Віченці є п'ять. Ці ворота як і мури, в давнину мали велике оборонне значення. Також ворота слугували як своєрідний митний кордон. Ворота Віченци мають свої імена. Це Porta Feliciana, Porta Nova, Porta Pusterla, Porta S. Pietro e Porta Berga. Я зайшла до історичного центру через Porta Castello. Мене вразила середньовічна вежа, висот 40 метрів. Вона колись була частиною оборонного муру. Багато разів відбудована та відреставрована, сьогодні вона виглядає справді величною. Я заходжу на невелику площу, що передує центральній вулиці Corso del Popolo.
I exit at Corso del Poppolo and walk towards Piazza dei Signiori. This is the central square of Vicenza. It's fun and loud here today. Today is a carnival in Vicenza. After the official end of the Carnival in Venice, the cities of the Veneto province hold their own mini-carnivals. It is mainly done for children. Parents dress their children in different carnival costumes. Children like to scatter colorful confetti and have fun. Music, games and various contests. Everything for a good mood!
Я виходжу на Corso del Poppolo і йду в напрямку до Piazza dei Signiori. Це центральна площа Віченци. Тут сьогодні весело та гучно. Сьогодні у Віченці карнавал. Після офіційного закінчення карнавалу у Венеції міста провінції Венето проводять свої мінікарнавали. В основному це проводиться для дітей. Батьки одягають дітей в різні карнавальні костюми. Діти залюбки розкидують різнокольорові конфетті і веселяться. Музика, ігри та різноманітні конкурси. Все для хорошого настрою!
I left the square and went to the Teatro Olimpico. It was my longtime dream to enter this theater. First, I visited the courtyard of the theater. Quiet and cozy among statues overgrown with moss from ancient times. Here you can take a break from the noisy carnival center.
Я покинула площу і пішла до театру Олімпіко. Це була моя давня мрія попасти в цей театр. Спочатку я побувала в подвір'ї театру. Тихо та затишно серед статуй, що поросли мохом від давності. Тут можна відпочити від галасливого карнавального центру.
Two rivers flow through Vicenza. These are Asticello and Bacchiglione. These rivers are the decoration of the city. But rivers are also the cause of frequent flooding of the city. Once upon a time, many mills operated in Vicenza with the help of river water. Even today, you can see huge iron wheels turning under the flow of water. There are also many bridges. Bridges also have their names.
Через Віченцу протікають дві річки. Це Астікелло та Баккільоне. Ці річки є прикрасою міста. Але й ріки є причиною частих рідтоплень міста. Колись за допомогою сили води річок у Віченці працювало багато млинів. Ще сьогодні можна побачити величезні залізні колеса, що крутитися під потоком води. Також багато мостів. Мости також мають свої імена.
The sun rolls behind the mountains and begins to darken. Dusk descended on the city tower, gradually enveloping the city. I drink a cup of delicious cappuccino and get ready to go home.
