Here's a bit of a late #wednesdaywalk as I was stuck working late at work.
The day started out with a nice sunrise. I woke up extra early to get into work to catch up on projects.
Once I got into downtown it was a nice clear and slightly cool day. This building just got finished a year ago. It used to be an ugly generic tan cubicle farm but now it is a big shiny skyscraper three times taller than it was.
Some kind of seafood/meat restaurant has opened up on the ground level. I wonder if I'll ever be able to get some lunch here...
Now I'm walking to my new office past my old office in the opera house. The exterior entry corridor is pretty impressive.
Now heading out to lunch all the streets were blocked by the bridges to let a sail boat head out to the lake. Each of these bridges lifts up for about ten minutes to let boats go by.
The bridge blocked my normal lunch option so I ended up in the Willis tower food court to get a chicken sandwich at do-rite donuts.
Inside the food court you can look up at one of the tallest buildings in Chicago. Lots of tourists end up here to go up into the glass skybox at the top.
Now I'm headed back to the office taking a quick shot of the sky.
Here's the same opera house on my way back home. Now its dark and deserted later at night.
Now as I got into the train station all the trains were delayed. I have to walk aimlessly around the empty French market to pass the time.
Sadly this late in the day all the shops are closed. There are quite a few food options here but it is always crowded when its actually open.
This is where people eat their food. Usually in peak hours there is a musician on a little stage playing something while people chow down.
Here is a funny shipping container that gets plastered with bottle labels by people at the train station. Most of the labels are from a bar that serves custom rare alcohol.
Whew finally the train is started up and now its getting really dark. Maybe tomorrow I will wake up even earlier to avoid staying late again lol.

Whoa, even in just a short walk you can really see a lot of beauty on the way. Cant't help too but to admire them. These are all lovely shot. You sure enjoyed your walk ha☺️✨
Loads of skyscrapers all around. Each with their own sort of style to them.
Winter in the north. Dark when you go to work. Dark when you come home. Haven't had one of those days since I used to live in Minneapolis. Sucks. Well I guess its not winter yet 😅 Hopefully tomorrow is better or at least shorter 😁
Haha I don't mind the dark winters being from AZ its kind of exotic for me lol. But about mid January it starts getting old. My boss has a serious daylight emulator as he gets the SADS pretty bad. Its strange how those lights really trick the mind.
Such a busy Wednesday it is. But I love your walk, it's feels like there was point of view where I also within the city of yours. Haha, you guys really living different from me, and I loved to witness it.
Thanks for looking :-) thankfully I don't live in the city. Its only good for working but the concrete can get a bit claustrophobic.

Cool photos, beautiful modern architecture with cozy cafes.
Early in the morning is the only good time to enjoy the cafes, once night hits they get swarmed. At lunch its impossible to even think about getting into one. The seagulls like hanging around outside them looking for snacks, you can see them watching every human go by sizing them up for treats lol.
What an interesting walk you have among the skyscrapers. 🤣
The daily hike to the anthill for the tiny human worker drones lol.
