I am bit late in posting for #Wednesdaywalk, but it was a travelling that I undertook that defer my posting. It had been a while, since I made any long train journey. I guess it has been over a year, since I traveled in a train. But this wednesday, it took me a mili second to opt for a trip to Delhi. Or was an instant program, which nobody ready to digest. As most people were in a festival spirit and holidays all around, travelling tickets are easily available. I was missing the touch of meeting new people, the train atmosphere and above all the hawkers selling different tempting snacks item. After packing up few cloth, I went for a quick train trip to Delhi.
Travelling in train is always fascinating. There is another level of euphoria that one could experience. Be it travelling in any birth. The chuckle of train on the platform and the shunting noise were always make me to remind all my previous travel. When I was in Delhi, I usually travel back my home every month, but now as I shifted back to my village such long train rarely happen. When i reached my railway, i felt quite excited to relive all those moment. The sight of railway line pushed me back to all my previous memory.
My train was bit late to arrive, I took the time listen to some favorite bollywood tracks. I was feeling quite relaxed may be due to the traveling time or due to going on a break after a long time.
After waiting for good an hour, my train entered the platform whistling. It is one of the longest train that runs from the east to Delhi. It is going to be 16 hrs of complete journey inside the train. My excitement was doubled as soon as the train arrived.
Even after doing my last minute booking, I amange to get a reservation in an AC coach. It is good to have some comfortable when you travelling on longer route. My coach gate exactly opened in front of me.
Unlike everytime the train was quite empty. There is not much traveller owning to the festival time. I was feeling bored and felt asleep. It was a quick nap and woke up after few hours. The train was stopped at a junction . It was supposed to be a 20 min of halt so I took time to get down for some refreshment. The snacks have not changed yet and I can see those maslsa peanuts and fruits slices are still sold dearly.
This time arpund the travel was different. There is not much traveller so did not get time to catch up and chat up. I did my best to entertain myself but as it get late in fall asleep. I reached delhi in early wee hours. Delhi have not changed yet. It is same as I left years ago.

Yikes! 16 hours! That's crazy! I can't even imagine. Did you get your own cabin or did you just have to sit out in the open with other folks?
Its not a cabin , we are in open, we have separate birth to sleep. ..train journey is cheaper in india, and train is enjoyable.
Does it travel very fast? The trains here in the US are so slow...

Thanks for the nice compliment. As said there is not much crowd so no special moment. I have travelled multiple times and there is always enjoyable moment by talking and making friends with co passenger.
I love trains, I did it in India a couple of times, although over there they were crammed packed with people!
