This post if for Wednesday walk challenge And Make me Smile Collaboration challenge, initially our collaboration was once a month but due to the popularity of it we have decided to make the collab a weekly thing :)

I did have another post prepared for this week, actually one I have had prepared for a few weeks now and I will get to it, but trying to start the year where possible to share recent walks, and even though I haven't been out for many walks in the last week or so, I do have one walk I haven's shared one I took with the new Camera the Sony a7IV
This was a fairly short and quick walk, as it was pretty cool out, but as I was heading out for an early morning visit to the supermarket I had a feeling it was going to be a nice sunrise so I took my camera bag in the car with me, and I am glad I did

When I drove past the pond I saw some nice colors in the sky so parked the car and went for a short photo stroll, initially nice subtle colors in the sky

As I walked back and forth around the pond, not stopping to long in any one spot as it was quite chilly the colors became more vibrant

Some nice yellows and red both in the sky and reflecting on the ice on the pond.
I have heard people say that they used to ice skate on the pond and the building across the Pond used to be a warming house for after skating, the ice wasn't thick enough to be skating on that day and I cant say I have seen anyone skating on it in the couple of years we have lived here.
MInd you if I did see people skating on it I wouldn't give it a go, I have terrible balance when it comes ot skating so would instead just take photos of other skating

Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.
This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines
Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.
Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.
Try and get a few shots not just one
Add a bit of a write up about where you walked
Just one Wednesday Walk tagged post a week
You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.
Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss
Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all, especially if its not one of the first 5 tags or I may miss seeing it .
Following me and re-Hiving the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion.
I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules
I will try and visit, and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk.

We have really nice weather at the moment and the good thing is that it's cold, so the snow stays and it doesn't muddy around.

I'm waiting to see people skating on the pond. Hopefully the ice gets thicker soon.
I think it was to cold for me also, haven't been feeling the best for a few days after it, but picking up now, but was worth it to see that sunrise I think
I drove passed the pond yesterday but still havent seen anyone skating there

Those are some beautiful shots! That is really cool that they used to use it for skating. Very small town America right there! I don't know if the ice is going to get to the point we need it to this year. They have already been rescuing ice fishermen on the Bay and that usually doesn't happen until March or April.
I hope no ice fisherman lost there lives, the weather patterns are for sure changing, I drive past the pond every now and again to see if anyone is skating but I dont think the ice has been thick enough for that yet and not sure it will this season
No, I think they were all okay. It's pretty rare that people lose their lives on the ice, but the local governments usually have to pay a considerable amount to rescue them when they are irresponsible.

And I dread to imagine how much is spent of rescuing people who are irresponsible
I think they eventually bill back the individuals, but it is still just a dangerous situation all around.
Yes ones irresponsible puts others at risk trying to save them

That ice really looks cold, but it gives beautiful reflections of the color though!

What beautiful shots of the sunrise, I really love the one with the tree and the reddish orange hues in the sky.
