Howdy there ;0) My daughter is off to the lowlands to go hiking for a week. The weather looks like it's gonna be rather rainy and cold! She says Mom, don't worry, I've got my woolies and proper gear.
She will explore Edinburgh and glasgow before starting her trek.
What are some must-dos in Glasgow? And don't tell me that place where you get your beers on Fridays with the guy you can't understand a word he says!!@meesterboom

And sorry for the delay! I only just noticed the notification!!!

It's a shame she missed the nice weather this past two weeks. It's going bad again for a while!!

I don't think she's minding the weather! And she sent a pic with a cathedral in it so I guess she found it - yay!
I think she's off to Edinburgh tomorrow. I'm mostly jealous she is there- I"ve never been. furthest north i've been in UK was the hiking thru the Lake District (45 years ago !!!)

She must have found it indeed! If she is here the now that means she must have caught some of the sun. Smashing. The weather has been nice (for here) of late.

She will love Edinburgh, much as it pains me to say it being from the west it is a fabulous city.

Hello!!! Oh man, there's a tricky one!! In Glasgow you have to see the cathedral with it's nearby cool Pub and brewery (Drygate) thwre is another West which is quite famous on the green, park in the middle.

After that she should definitely visit the West end, there is an art gallery there and a cool cool park and lots of funky venues and eateries!!

If I think of any more I will let you know!!! ;0)

so my daughter had a lovely time in Glasgow! SHe went to the cathedral and the botanic garden and she went to "A Play, A Pie and A Pint"! Last few days been hiking in the Scottish Lowlands and enjoyed a few days of sun and adorably cozy bed and breakfasts. I think she' in for that bit of rain now, but she's not minding it. Her photos do look as if Heathcliff might be just beyond the next rise.

And in a side note...my husband got some detailed ancestry analysis and he is 39% Scot, mostly from the Glasgow region! Will have to visit some day ;0)

Haha!! 39% that's like half!!

I forgot about play a pie and a pint!! It's an awesome thing, Oran Mor, an old converted church and now pub. I am glad they are still doing it, I will have to go again.

I am so glad she had enjoyed it, you always have that fear that when people come they think everything will be shit!

So my daughter got back from hiking the lowlands and wishes she were back there- the rain didn't even dampen her spirits! She's a true Scot ;0)

Wahhahah!!! It must run in her veins like fire!!

I am glad to hear it, you know that everyone always appreciates someone loving their 'bit' as they say here!
