Hello Friends.
I’ve always loved drawing. It’s always been a way for me to calm down and focus. I think of it as a form of meditation. There’s something about the act of drawing that helps me to clear my head and focus on the present.
Tonight when I was sitting at a café having a bitter cheery drink, it was time to bust out the lead and pen and do a new drawing.
Some people are inspired by great athletes or musicians. I'm inspired by Alphonse Mucha. He was a Czech painter and decorative artist who produced beautiful art nouveau posters and paintings. I love his use of color and line, and I'm always amazed by his ability to create stunning compositions.
Lately, I have been trying to channel Mucha, The way he captures the hair and feelings it is epic.
Inspiration // NOT MINE
The work that inspired my drawing was based on "Autumn by Alphonse Maria Mucha"

Initial Sketch
I looked at the image for about 5 minutes, tried to think about the form and shape, then closed the phone and picked up the lead.

While a far cry from Mucha's work, I still had fund drawing it and feel like I learned a few trick or two. :)
In conclusion, doing a little bit of art every day is a great way to keep your soul healthy and your mind active. It doesn't matter what form your art takes, as long as you enjoy it and it brings you happiness. Don't be afraid to experiment and find new mediums to express yourself. The most important thing is to keep creating, because that is what makes us alive.
