I had been wanting to try to submit a post relating to art. In my more than 3 years in this platform I don't remember being able to submit even one. Why? Basically because I felt I don't have the skills required to be able to come up with a good and presentable creation of Art.
Yes you heard it right. I don't really know how to draw although I do it every time my little boy ask me to draw something. He is my only fan when it comes to drawing 😜. He used to tell me it's okay dad you draw well 😜, that's his way of making me say yes every time he wants me to draw.
The reason why he wants me to draw is because he wanted to draw it also by himself. And that forced me to do as he wanted.
Anyhow, I think I had been exposed to this mobile app since 1 year already. I saw my kids using it once in a while but I payed no attention. I find it so tedious to do or shall I say I find it hard to finish coloring one single image. And yes I had tried once or twice but never finish it. I felt I'm just wasting my time and I also think it's for kids or younger people not me 😜.
Now I made my first try which I was able to complete the whole coloring process, although honestly with little help from my little boy. Anyway, this is how I did it.
STEP 1:
The first step was to select among the ready made drawings, there were tons of it and after some time of deliberation, I was able to select this image.
The images available varies from simple to a little complex to a more complex one. My intention was to select something not so hard to color but at least a more presentable one compared to other available sketches.
STEP 2:
After I chose one image from among the hundreds available on the apps, the next procedure is to decide where to start. I know that artists have standards like you need to start working on the middle part, not sure if its really the right way to do it but I did start from the very thing that is found in the middle part which is the thing that seems to be important to both the girls in the image.
And since it looks like a leaf LOL I chose green to color it.
And then I focused to the stars that are scattered around the leaf. Honestly I had a hard time deciding on what color I will use for the stars, I tried to color some stars blue and leaf the others in their original black color.
I was happy looking at the image below with a little color applied into it and I really find coloring job amusing. Although considering all those parts which I need to fill up with colors made me sweat a bit 😜.
Then I started coloring the hair, I actually did not make a trial error and error on this part, after choosing a color I used it without trying another one. although I was thinking if I will use the same color for the other girl.
I was thinking to use the same color but I tried and finalized another color which I find it attractive. This time I was amazed of the outcome so I continued.
At this stage I had second thoughts of what color I will use to color their clothes, as you can see I had colored their skin already. And as I continue the coloring process I decided to use the color for both.
At this stage I am already tired because there are small parts although my little boy taught me to enlarge the sketch so I could easily apply colors. And since I am a bit contented with the result I continued and made several tries on colors specifically on the dress part.
ALMOST DONE
At last, I came to this point, looks like complete already but my little boy with his bionic eyes LOL saw some small parts which were not colored so I made a last touch because I wanted to finish it already.
FINAL OUTPUT
Finally, I'm done it took me about an hour completing this task and I truly enjoyed the process. It''s a stress reliever and I felt relaxed after I saw the final result. Thanks to my little boy for all the help. I'm sure i won't stop doing this.
THINGS I LEARNED:
This task maybe that simple to a lot of artists around but for me it's quite hard although I am glad I was able to learn a couple of things.
I think this does not apply only to a simple coloring task but applies as well to every artists around in every thing they do. So let's see how relevant those leanings I got when I did this task.
Decision Making
This is one hard phase, I mean perhaps for real artists, deciding on what to draw or work upon is hard that is why they need inspirations.
In my case, even if this is just a simple coloring work, I also learned to decide on things. this is something important becuase if you find it hard to decide, it will take you longer time to finish the work.
Perseverance
I also learned to be patient and determined. If not I would not have finished the work.
So that ends my very first entry to #OnchainArt community, I planned to do it regularly no matter what, LOL
