The rescued bard tells his tale of woe...
Nerd By Northwest #360 - "He Should Have Worn the Yellow Pants"

Uff-dah... this strip took a longer time to finish than I expected. Wanna know why? While drawing action and combat scenes takes a lot of time, it takes even MORE time when the opponents are giants roughly three times taller than the average human. I had to shrink the size of Lady Karen's adventurers more than once, and even then I still had to settle for leaving most of the frost giants' heads being out of the frame. And speaking of frost giant heads, the little things surrounding only one that you CAN see are the magic sparkles from Dann the Bard's spell of confusion that has rendered the giant helpless. So yes, despite what Nolan the Rogue thinks, bards CAN be useful!
Now did Dann the Bard really pee his pants? It's possible... his rather dark green pants would make it hard to tell. But it's equally or even more possible that Nolan, because he loves to hate bards, is simply giving him a hard time. Or to use that classic British idiom, he's "taking the piss out of him". Such a lovely and image-laden expression! 😁
Anyway... in our next installment, Dann the Bard will be leading our brave adventurers into the glacial rift of the frost giants. Will they defeat the frost giants and their minions? Will they rescue the other members of Lady Karen's adventuring band? Will they even bother to try to rescue them? Would anyone blame them if they didn't? 😏 Find out in the coming weeks...

If he had peed his pants his britches would be frozen. Although there's probably a cantrip to fix that...
Prestidigitation for the win! It says it can clean an area, so I assume that'd work. And it's a bard cantrip to boot!
Failing that, there's Minor Illusion that could hide the stain... though that wouldn't help hide the funny way he walked from having frozen britches. 😉
I like how 'piss' can have various meanings across the Atlantic. It's a very versatile word.
!BEER
I've known the British slang term 'pissed' referring to being drunk for a long time, but only in the past several years since moving to Mongolia did I ever hear the term 'take the piss out of him'. The things you learn from hanging around British expats... 😉
And "Uff-dah," isn't that a Minnesotan or Norwegian exclamation? I have a half-brother whose father was full-blooded Norwegian from Minnesota and through him I got introduced to Ole and Lena joke books.
I was wondering if someone would spot that! Yup, it's largely a Norwegian-American thing... my dad was from a ethnic Norwegian family in the upper Midwest. Funny enough, in America it has a somewhat expanded definition compared to how it's used in Norway. It's apparently a less common thing in Norway as well, much like lutefisk (which is whitefish cured in lye to preserve it)... sure it originally came from Norway, but much of Norway has largely moved on and it's the Norwegian-Americans mostly keeping it alive. Which is kinda cool in the case of uff dah, but not so much in the case of lutefisk (which should be considered a crime against food and humanity in general...)
I have only heard stories about lutefisk... which I'm pretty sure is where Gygax and Arneson got the idea for the Aboleth from... :oD
