So $45 is not good? Would you give up the chance of that? You make a fair amount each day from multiple posts.
I see this one got downvoted, but then complaining does not make you popular. This 'dictator' invested big in the platform and acts as he sees fit to make it good. He may not care about being popular. We each have our own opinions. He is just one of many big accounts. Some act for good and others just self-interest. Just how it is.
It’s irrelevant what’s good. 80 c isn’t great for a post but we take the rough with the smooth. The woman I refer to got like 80 dollars but it was one post in as far as I could scroll back of her supporting others and communities.
Another guy only ever rly got one dollar then he did a post where he got lots of people to join that did rly rly well and that got taken from.
I’m happy to make anything or nothing on a post but to have someone ‘supposedly in a position of wanting to make the platform better’ comes in and just takes what other chose to give isn’t good no. To me it’s a complete morale drop. I would feel same if you got a dollar and he took 50 c away . It’s the principle.
Obviously I chat to my friends and as much as me doing good and finding new ways to get compensated as a creative and artist, things like this when I tell them and they immediately don’t want to bother. It’s just a type of thing that puts new people off wanting to invest time. They hardy get any upvotes and are already losing interest. They only mostly get me and my vote is like 10 c when it’s fully powered. Maybe people could spend more time putting the power into these people so they stay. I already see within a week two have rly not posted much more. It might be coffee to some people but I’m inviting friends who are maybe struggling artists or musicians this is a sideline way to support their arts. They won’t continue if they see ppl get downvoted like that. I’m off to check out blurt it sounds great!
Bear in mind that Blurt will have less big accounts to vote you up. I go where the community is and Hive is still best for that. The Blurt token is not doing much.
What happened to you is very rare, so is it a deal-breaker? How much have you made from Hive? It takes work and effort, but you have to consider the value to you. I consider the big up/downvotes to be a matter of luck. I would not make anything on other platforms, but then I also believe that Hive is a force for good. The odd 'spoiler' is not going to put me off.

it;s never been about purely money. As much as I love receiving upvotes because not only is it great but it helps support art. Sometimes it can pay for the materials used in a piece even if you don;t sell it so you can worry less and do things for purely creating. But at the same time I value freedom more than money and always have. My friends already want nothing to do with hive now I told them about people taking away votes like that its really put them off, as it will many ppl. Someone fairly compensated posts and the fact a tiny group of people heavily invested dictate what is acceptable and not acceptable to get rewarded /post is going to put ppl off eventually as it is doing with fb and twitter, the very ppl these ppl supposedly hate.. they are doing the same thing exactly. I have made great connections here iI especially love the guys over at eco train but I will definitely put more focus elsewhere now . It's different when its someone random, but this is someone who is supposed to be an 'example' as to how the platform should work.

Hive is about freedom, and that includes the freedom to be an arse. I just think you may be overreacting somewhat. I doubt you can make as much elsewhere. Your choice.
its the total opposite of freedom. People are choosing to compensate posts as they see fit and give them montary value then someone 'supposedly' working to make hive better is coming along and taking them away. How is that free or fair? Where is he upvoting my 5 new ppl i bought along in the last couple of weeks? He even says he doesn't support any upcoming creatives at all.
We can do whatever we like. On Steemit some actions will get you censored. Smooth uses his votes on other things for now, his choice. Hive would be a cesspit without downvotes and I doubt you have seen much of the crap we have to deal with. Disagreement with rewards was there in the original Steem white paper as a reason for downvoting. Again, you have one from him!
Who are these people you introduced and those who lost rewards? Share their posts and maybe others can support them.
I don't want you to leave or discourage others. It is not as bad as you are making out.
I have never once had anything flagged or censored on steemit since these ppl left anyways. I love hive and the community but this one small group of ppl ruin it for everyone and sadly have a lot of power due to their delegations. Any critism or opinion they don't like and you'll get a flag, or if they mistakenly assume you plagiarised, ,or if they 'deem you to be getting to much for a post' My friends can do as they like but when i told them about it it's put them off for sure, they were more outraged than me ppl take your money away for no real reason and say it just seems off having a few ppl with so much influence as everyones not on a level playing field.
People actually abusing people is one thing, like racial attacks or abuse but witnesses taking away money from posts that others upvoted in good faith because they 'deem them not to be worthy' come on thats rly the final straw.
I will stay around as i've met some rly cool people and communities here but it won't be getting my full focus and i definitely won't be pushing ppl to join anymore, whilst ppl like that are witnesses.
