▶️ Watch on 3Speak

A little video I put together to explain my absence. Life sometimes goes pear shaped and you just have to keep on going one day at a time.
Soon I will continue documenting my art but I just needed a restart.

Oof that's a lot in a short space of time x_x

I understand trying to stick to documenting your previous sculptures within the context of what was going on at the time rather than what's going on now, so if you feel the need or incinlination to please post about whatever else is on your mind if it helps you to do so.

I'm glad you're back. Virtual hugs if you're the huggy type, or awkward shoulder pats or fist bump or socially distant friendly wave if you're not.

Hi @ryivhnn. This has been the hardest period of time I have ever gone through and I try to stay as strong as I can for my wife and son, Fintan. Trying to steer the right course has been a big challenge but now that we are in our own home I believe at least I have a starting point to go on from. I am sure there will be many tough days ahead but I am happy to have hive as something that brings me joy and I can escape to.
In time all will come out in my blog but there will be a lot of processing till then.
Thank you and everyone who has sent me good wishes. The virtual hug was exactly what I needed.

Wow, sounds pretty rough.

I totally get you ( also as a creative ) and am glad that you managed to get all this out of your system and on the blockchain. I appreciate the video update and am happy to hear that Hive has helped you through this. I am pretty sure this 'personal' house improvement project will have a similar therapeutic effect on you.

Sending you a hug from Portugal,

Vincent

Thanks Vincent. It is a tough time for sure but you are right, keeping busy and creative has to be doing some good for me. It allows me to tune out and enjoy some moments. Hopefully, that is better than falling into a depression. Having a 6-year-old son to care for also keeps me focused.

Good to see you back although I'm sorry to hear about what you have been going through! Projects will help you to process for sure. Wishing you all strength and peace 🤗🤗🤗

Thank you Nikv. I am so busy trying to deal with the day to day of all this I don't think I have started processing what has and is happening. Keeping my mind active in making and fixing is a great escape but sometimes it makes me think I am avoiding the whole thing. Hopefully, in the back of my mind, there is some healing going on.

I think all takes it's own time, it's not something that can be dealt with once and put away, the healing does go on in the background and carrying on is about the only possible positive act. About 17 years ago, I lost 3 family members and 3 friends within the space of 18 months. It was a lot to process and the only way I coped was through regular exercise and continuing with the small mundane tasks. It changes you a lot but you can get through it, I think I learned to be kinder to myself and others and figure out what was truly important after that

Ahh... I'm sorry to hear about all these dreadful challenges you've been going through. I really do hope all ends up well and I'll be sure to send my best wishes to your wife. I hope she gets well soon.

I actually understand you on that part of: how people are able to post about their person challenges on Hive. Ha! I don't get it too. I'm someone who'll just often deal with it in the background.

Best of Luck on the attic and the insulation though! This is actually my first time seeing you on Hive, I'll be sure to check out your sculptures.

Take care bud!

Thank you @zeraton. My life has really taken an awful beating this last year. I am really in survival mode at the moment and trying to make the best of what we have. My wife is ok at the moment and we are trying to cherish these moments. She is starting a new round of chemo and we are clinging to hope.

I can be an open book but only when I have had time to process everything. Writing my blog allows me to escape back to a happier time and that helps a lot.

The insulation will be a massive job as I also need to rewire. All of that is also a great distraction and new adventure for me.

Thanks for you nice comments.

Oh bud, I don't know what to say but send my love and wishes to you and your family. I'm sure after a good round of chemo, she'll get better soon.

Writing my blog allows me to escape back to a happier time and that helps a lot.

I feel the same way buddy

Good luck again with the insulation. I'm sure the attic will be at its best by the time you're done with it.

My pleasure bud.

Hive Power Up Month - Feedback from April day 21

I have just been inspired by your story. I commend you because considering what you have been through and you are still standing tall and strong. I will share my journey in 2019 here someday. I didn't know a community like this exist in this hive space. You will heal @ammonite.

Don't know what to say but thinking of you bud. Glad to see you back and if you ever need anything just shout.

Jebus buddy. I wondered where you had been but just figured it was winter and everybody was dealing with shit. I'm sorry you are dealing with so much and I wish I could help. I did miss you though and I'm glad I looked you up on here. I guess this answered my question about whether you went to Davos this year. We were having a laugh at your video about wearing the ass out of your pants.

I hope you are able to process all of this in the manner you need to and thanks for sharing.
