Sometimes, very rarely, I go to the theater or the cinema.
I became more meticulous. I've become more sensitive and can't watch artwork that has a bad ending. I want to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
My friend Olya invited me to a play with a rather intriguing title "Enemies. A Love Story." I really hoped that those characters wouldn't kill each other at the end, because I'd be in a bad mood again all evening.
Іноді, дуже рідко, я ходжу в театр або в кіно... Так, хочеться частіше.
Я стала більш прискіпливою. Я стала більш вразливою і не можу дивитися твори мистецтва, в яких погане завершення. Хочеться бачити світло в кінці тунелю. Подруга запросила мене на виставу з досить інтригуючою назвою "Вороги. Історія кохання". Я дуже сподівалася, що вкінці ті герої не повбивають один одного.

We had tickets on the second balcony. The hall was completely filled, although this was not the premiere. It is not surprising, because this play was staged by the new director of the Zankovetska Theater, Maksym Golenko.
I was immediately drawn to the scenery and music with Jewish motifs.
The play is based on the book by the famous writer Yitzhak Singer.
У нас були квитки на другому балконі і що цікаво зал був повністю заповнений, хоч це далеко не прем'єра. Не дивно, бо цю виставу поставив новий режисер театру Заньковецької.
Одразу привабили декорації та музика з єврейськими мотивами.
Вистава поставлена за мотивами книги відомого письменника Іцхака Зінгера.
It is about the period after the Second World War and several representatives of the Jewish people who managed to survive Nazism and emigrate from Europe to America. The main character is a writer, a connoisseur of scriptures and traditions. That is why the main decoration is huge shelves with books. Also, books are randomly scattered on the floor... They should be a source of wisdom and strength. But our hero is completely lost in space.
Йдеться про період після другої світової війни і кількох представників єврейського народу, яким вдалося пережити нацизм і емігрувати з Європи до Америки. Головний персонаж — письменник, знавець священних писань та традицій. Саме тому основна декорація це величезні стелажі з книгами. Також книги хаотично розкидані по підлозі... Це мало би бути джерелом мудрості і сили. Але наш герой зовсім загублений у просторі.
He is married to the woman who saved his life by hiding him from the Nazis. It was a marriage without true love, out of a sense of duty... So, our hero is looking for thrills by getting a mistress.
And while the writer lives on two fronts, his first wife appears... who was died. A few years ago, she managed to survive during the shelling, but unfortunately lost two children.
So now the man is forced to act on three fronts. Each of the "wives" demands that he finally make a choice!
Він одружений з жінкою, яка переховувала його від нацистів та врятувала цим життя. Це було одруження без справжнього кохання, з почуття обов'язку... Отож, наш герой шукає гострих відчуттів, завівши коханку. Коханка теж має великий "послужний список" з чоловіків.
І поки письменник живе на два фронти, то з'являється його... померла перша дружина. Кілька років тому їй вдалося вижити під час розстрілу, але на жаль втратила двох дітей.
Отож тепер чоловік змушений діяти вже на три фронти. Кожна з "дружин" вимагає щоб він нарешті зробив вибір!
One of the coolest moments is a ballet number where the men gradually take off their clothes and throw them at the hero. Gradually, men remain in their underwear! This is a reference to another piece, Jewish ballet, as I read in a critical article. Personally, I have an association with the ancient method of punishment described in the Bible. Adulterers or other criminals were punished by stoning. What do you think?
Один з найбільш крутих моментів — це балетний номер, де чоловіки поступово скидають з себе одяг та кидають у героя. Триває десь до 5 хвилин і поступово чоловіки лишаються в самій нижній білизні... Це посилання на інший твір, єврейський балет, як я прочитала в критичній статті. Особисто в мене асоціація зі старовинними способом покарання, який описаний в Біблії. Перелюбників або й інших злочинців карали забиванням каміння...
Unfortunately, there was no relief in the second act... At a certain point, the hero started to get annoying. I can't say that I liked him. Therefore, it was difficult to understand why these poor women were running after him so much.
Probably, in the original, that is, in the book, the thoughts and emotions of all the characters are more described.
And here you see a characterless man who are like "football ball". On the other hand, if this story annoys me, then maybe the problem is with me too? And I'm also somewhat similar to the main character.
At the end of the play, he remains at a crossroads.
На жаль у другій дії полегшення чи розв'язки не настало... В певний момент герой вже почав дратувати. Не можу сказати, що він мені сподобався ззовні. Тому важко було зрозуміти, чому ці бідні жінки так за ним бігають... Ймовірно, у оригіналі тобто в книзі є більш описані думки та емоції всіх героїв, отож вона сприймається по-іншому.
А тут бачиш безхарактерного чоловіка, яким "грають у футбол". З іншого боку, якщо ця історія мене дратує, то можливо проблема також в мені? І я теж чимось схожа на головного героя...
Наприкінці вистави він лишається роздоріжжі.
Якщо чесно, саме зараз в період війни, мене цікавлять більш сильні цілісні, мужні чоловіки і жінки. Саме такі, які захищають нашу країну від ворога.
Але, на жаль, крім них є ще й інші люди. Кажуть, що ця вистава про те, що життя після війни триває. І його проживають як герої, так і не-герої. В кожного свій досвід...
After the performance, two friends and I went to have a little snack. I don't know much about modern restaurants. My city changes every day. So I haven't been to the Noa oriental food cafe yet.
Tasty, although unusual. Expensive, but a portion can be taken for two people. Portions are huge.
Interior in the style of minimalism. Quite interesting.

Після вистави ми з двома подругами пішли іще трішки перекусити. Я мало тямлю у сучасних закладах. Моє місто змінюється щодня. Отож у кафе східної їжі Noa я ще не була.
Смачно, хоча і незвично. Дорого, але порцію можна взяти на двох людей. Порції велетенські.
Інтер'єр у стилі мінімалізму. Досить цікаво.
Такий вечір... Світла вкінці тунелю я на жаль так і не побачила. Але принаймні настрій лишився рівним.
