You ever sit and just wonder what happens after you’re gone? Not in a sad way just that quiet thought like, “Will anyone remember me?”
It’s sometimes funny how we all say we don’t care what people think is it true, but deep down, we all want to matter to someone at least. We want to leave a little mark behind, even if it’s little or small. Something that says, I was here, I lived, I loved, I mattered.
But then again… being known comes with its own kind of stress. When people expect things from you, when you always have to keep showing up a certain way. Some days, I just want to disappear for a while no calls, no messages, no “where are you?” Just peace.
It’s confusing, is it not? Let's just say it happens like
One moment you want to be remembered, and the next, you just want to be left alone.
You will surely want your name to mean something, but you also want to live quietly without the noise. It's antagonizing
I’ve noticed that the fear of being forgotten makes us do things for attention sometimes posting, achieving, trying too hard to be seen. But the peace of being unknown… it hits differently. It’s soft. No pressure. You can make mistakes without anyone watching. You can live at your own pace.
Sometimes, I think the real beauty was always is in balance being known by a few people I mean who truly get you, instead of being noticed by a crowd that doesn’t even care and you think they are.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not about how many people remember your name, but how many hearts you actually touched.
And maybe, just maybe, being forgotten isn’t such a bad thing. Because the world keeps moving, and life goes on. You still existed. You still mattered, even if nobody’s talking about it anymore.
There’s peace in that too the kind of peace that comes from knowing you lived honestly, even if quietly.
So I’ll ask you this…
Would you rather be remembered by everyone, or be unknown and live peacefully in your own little world?
