The photo shows my booth at Design Festa.
I finally returned home after a long journey. It had been 17 years since I attended Design Festa, so I had forgotten most of what happened last time and kept getting lost. Tokyo Big Sight is huge, there were many participating booths, and above all, there were many visitors. There were about three orders of magnitude more people than those who pass by the gallery at a private exhibition.
I could see people looking at my booth as well as my neighbors' booths, so I was observing them. Then I was already spending only a few hundred dollars or so. I exhibited a painting on a panel for 8,000 yen or more, and goods for 2,000 yen or more, and as expected, no one bought the painting, and only a few goods were sold.
One of the people who bought the goods was a person who came from Osaka and did a live painting at the Design Festa. This person was someone who came to my solo exhibition in Kyoto in 2019 and said he wanted to buy my paintings when he became a working person. However, he did not like bulky items, so he bought the least bulky key chain.
Although some people bought goods, the painting did not sell, and we ended up with a huge deficit.
I am too old to take the express bus, so I spent a total of 70,000 yen for the trip using the expensive bullet train and a business hotel.
Next, I plan to participate in an event called artDive2024 and hold a solo exhibition in the fall, both in Kyoto. Both of them will be in Kyoto.

写真はデザインフェスタの私のブースです。
やっと長旅を終えて帰宅しました。デザインフェスタは17年ぶりの参加でしたので前回のことはほとんど忘れてしまって、迷子になってばかりでした。東京ビッグサイトも広いし、参加ブースも多いし、なにより来場者が多かったです。もう個展でギャラリーの前を通る人よりも３桁くらい人が多かったです。
自分のブースを見る人はもちろん、近所のブースの様子も見えるので観察していました。そしたらもう数百円ぐらいの買い物しかしていないのです。私が出品したものはパネルの絵なら8000円から、グッズ類でも2000円からということで、やはりなかなか絵を買う人はおらず、グッズが少し売れただけでした。
そのグッズを買ってくれた人の中に、大阪から来てデザインフェスタでライブペインティングをした人がいました。この人は2019年の京都での私の個展に来てくれた人で、社会人になったら私の絵を買いたいと言ってくれた人でした。しかしかさばるのは好きではないらしく、今回一番かさばらないキーホルダーを買ってくれました。
グッズを買ってくれた人はいましたが、絵は売れず、結局大赤字で終了しました。
もうトシなので高速バスを使う気にはならず、お高い新幹線とビジネスホテルを使って旅費は計7万円ほど使ったので、今年はもうあんまりお金を使えないなあと思いました。
次は秋にartDive2024というイベントに参加するのと、個展を開催する予定です。どちらも京都です。
Oh how I wish I could see your paintings live. I’m not really a collector but I would like to see your works. Too bad I knew late and was also busy lately.
Even when you haven’t sold lots, keep on trying! Who knows, there will be someone out there who’s going to buy them in one go.

コロナの時期の事を考えたら人が集まれるイベントを開催できるのは良い事だと思いますが、混雑はそれだけで結構疲れますからね。よく体を休めてください。
artDiveですが、私の友人の友人に戯曲を書いている方がおられて、その方の舞台作品の「舞台芸術担当」の方がartDiveに出店された…と記憶しています。確か2019年のだったはず…。
その戯曲作家の方の本拠地は京都でしたから（当時）多分間違いないと思います。
先ほどartDive2024のHPを見てきましたが、本当に対象分野が広いですね。どんな内容で出店されてたかもうわからないのですが、テキスタイル系出身だったらしいので、ファッション分野で出してたのかもしれないです。
ありがとうございます。だいぶ疲れはとれましたがまだ少し残っています。今日はのろのろ運転でいきます。
お知り合いの舞台芸術担当の方がartDiveに出店されていたのですね。
ファッションといえば、デザインフェスタではランウェイをやっていて盛り上がっていました。artDiveはデザインフェスタほど大規模ではないのでやるかどうかわかりませんが。

artDiveはHPを見ただけですが、すごく雰囲気が良さそうだなぁと思いました。
お目当ての作家さんのブースにファンの子が会いにいく、という要素もあるみたいで。
私は「発表の場」に向けて「締め切りのある作品づくり」というのをもう全く最近やっておらず、ヤダさんが活動を継続されている記事を読むたびに本当に尊敬しています。
もう油絵は完全に撤退ですが😅キャンバスがまだ余っているので、少しアクリル水彩を自分のために描こうかと思ったりします。もう私の絵を描く集中力というものはなくなっている気がしますが…🙃

あと私は締め切りは苦手ですよ。ここまで活動を継続できたのは、日頃から少しずつ絵を描きためているからです。あと今回に関していえば、グッズは予定より数が少なくなってしまいました。
